Transfer Event Ownership

Accounts get created in the moment, usually by whoever had their laptop open first. Transferring ownership hands full control to another collaborator on your event, useful if you're ready to pass the reins to a partner or co-planner.

The owner is the account that receives all RSVP and registry notification emails. If those are going to the wrong person, this is the fix.

The person you're transferring to must already be a collaborator on your site. If they're not yet added, invite them as a collaborator first before continuing.

Transferring ownership

From your Event Dashboard, click the gear icon, then select Event Settings.

  • Click the Admins tab.

  • Click the three dots next to the collaborator's name.

  • Select Transfer Ownership.

  • A confirmation box will appear. Type "TRANSFER" and confirm.

If you don't see the Transfer Ownership option, you may not be logged in as the account owner. Log out and log back in with the owner account, then try again.

Once the transfer is complete, the other person becomes the new owner. You'll remain on the site as a collaborator with full editing access.
