Story

March of 2020 changed everyone in many ways, for us, we had just started dating. We stayed out late on our first few dates (by Colleen's standards), responded to work from a bowling alley, and contended with a global pandemic. After contracting COVID, Colleen was convinced she would be ghosted since we were unable to see each other for over a month. Thankfully, we texted every day and couldn't wait to meet up again.

When everything closed, we no longer had the option to go on eventful dates (Colin was out of ideas anyway). Instead, we visited each other, cooked meals together, went on walks, and Colleen impulsively adopted our dog, Piper.

Once the world reopened, we went to museums, plays, movies, and took fun trips to Maine, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and Disney World. After having spent most of our quarantine time with each other, we moved in together near the end of 2021. Six months later, Colin proposed on Garnish Island in Glengarriff, County Cork, Ireland.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

We were both using Bumble at the right time. Colleen says that Colin is the best thing she has found on the internet.

Who made the first move? How?

Colin was first to swipe right. Colleen may have swiped past Colin on her first go around, simply because we have the same name. Fret not, she eventually swiped right.

What was your most memorable date?

Colleen always wanted to see Wicked, and Colin was happy to join! We enjoyed a lovely Italian dinner in Boston. Colin then indulged himself with too many treats from Insomnia Cookies. We both enjoyed the show, though Colleen thought it would be short enough to still get to bed on time. It was an 8:00PM show.

We’re on the same page about

Having the same name. It's fun to see how people react when they meet us.

The most spontaneous thing we’ve done

Adopting Piper with 3 days notice.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

The Steakhouse in Wells, Maine. We highly recommend. Colleen started with the French Onion Soup, followed by the Teriyaki Steak with a side of delicious homemade apple sauce. Colin ordered the mozzarella sticks, and enjoyed the Filet Mignon and BBQ Baked Beans. There was a long wait, but thankfully, we had plenty of ice cream for lunch earlier that day.

We are regulars at

Nanabette's Ice Cream. Colleen requires it at least once a month.

Our favorite recipe is

It's a tie between homemade Risotto, the first meal we made together, and Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken!

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Italy! We will be staying in Sorrento and then Rome. We are looking forward to Pompeii, Vesuvius, delicious food, and exploring.

A life goal of ours

Retire ASAP and travel. Colleen's goal is 62.
