Story
We met in the summer of 2011 while working a part-time job at a local butcher shop. Who would have thought the guy in the prepared foods section and the girl from the burger shack would end up getting married 10 years later! The beginning of our relationship was filled with late-night messages, many hours spent on the 118 bus route, and driving around town in the indestructible blue Chevy Impala once Derek got his driver's license.
Some say it was love at first sight... others say Colleen just wanted to get closer to Bear. We will let you decide...

Who made the first move? How?
Colleen did! Do you know how many "Dereks" exist on Facebook? The answer is MANY.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Whoever happens to be the person who can't close the trashcan lid...
What was your most memorable date?
Mini- Putt! It was one of our first dates. Although Derek will deny it, Colleen won!
What's your favorite activity together?
We love taking our dog on walks and adventures. Fun fact! Derek (and Bear) proposed to Colleen on a nature trail out in Pakenham!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Right now, it is undecided due to #covid19
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Our homemade BBQ pizzas are pretty bomb. #teampineappleonpizza
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Our most memorable trip is the time we went to Toronto together for the first time. We ended up visiting the Toronto Zoo which is not the easiest place to get to using public transit from downtown!

Are kids welcome?
Although we love your little ones, this is an adult only wedding.
Are vaccines required?
We are following the provincial guidelines and vaccines will be required to attend this event. Thank you so much in advance for your understanding.
What will the weather be like?
We are hoping for a nice Spring day, but please consider bringing a jacket, shawl or wrap to keep you warm during the outside ceremony and covered reception.
Where should I park?
There is plenty of free parking near the entrance! We strongly recommend car pooling with some designated drivers for a fun time!
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes!
What should I wear?
I know I always get confused about what to wear. If you're looking to avoid wearing what the bridal party is wearing, they will be in blush pink, and the bride will be in white!
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or sandals. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be in a covered barn.
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony so that our photographer can get some great shots! Don't worry, we will share the professional photos with you!
Is there a gifts registry?
We will NOT be using a gift registry. We will have a box at the reception for wedding cards and well wishes. If you wish to give, we invite you to contribute to our Honeymoon fund! Thank you!
Will the reception be live streamed?
Yes! Please RSVP saying you will attend virtually and we will be sure to give you access to the stream!
