Story

Hassan and Nayaab first connected in June 2020, and by "connecting," we mean slipping into each other's direct messages on Instagram. To this day, they still can't figure out how they were following each other or how they came across each other's profiles being physically on opposite coasts. After several Zoom Dates and virtual Coke Studio jam sessions, they finally decided to meet at Rev Coffee in Atlanta. ☕️

Hassan and Nayaab found love in 2021, as they traveled to California, Boston, New York and Houston all while realizing they were meant for each other. Shoutout to all the Airbnbs! 🏡

Today, they call Houston their home and are impatiently waiting to celebrate their special day with You! 💛

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

Hassan and Nayaab met up at Rev Coffee. We spoke about life, music, and all the things in between. Nayaab was impressed by Hassan's Spotify playlist (not everyone has "Dil Dil Pakistan" on their favorites 🇵🇰👏🏼)

What was your most memorable date?

Nayaab planned a surprise date to La Jolla, San Diego where we spent the day kayaking. At one point, we were on top of a 1000 foot deep canyon in the Pacific Ocean! Hassan ended up tipping over the kayak, but thankfully we survived! We made up by indulging in Hammond's Cookie Monster ice cream after 🍪💙

What's your favorite activity together?

Playing Monopoly Deal together, no matter where we are (Planes and Trains are not Deal Breakers!) 🙅‍♀️

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

We had the most delicious meal at Nepenthe in Big Sur with a beautiful view! 🏔

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

When we took a road trip from California to New York! 45 hours have never went by so quickly. We ended up traveling through 14 different states in 4.5 days! 🚘 🗺

We are regulars at

Chick-fil-A and Feng Cha! Spicy filets and boba all day! 🐮🧋

Mehndi 💚🎻

6:00 PM to 10:30 PM

The Mehndi ceremony is the perfect way to kick off the wedding celebrations! It is an intimate and nostalgic sit-down for the bride and groom amongst their loved ones. Mehndi, otherwise known as henna, is a temporary tattoo associated with positive spirits and good luck. Mehndi is utilized for its natural herbal remedies, which cool the nerve-endings of the body. Essentially, it is a spa day which has you looking and feeling good!

Pithi 💛🛺

11:00 AM to 3:00 PM

The Pithi ceremony is a joyful and auspicious pre-wedding ritual where family members and friends bless the couple with well wishes for their new life together. Haldi is a turmeric, rose water, and chickpea flour paste (almond flour for the chickpea-allergic groom 😋) that is applied to the bride/groom's skin. This thick yellow paste brightens the skin tone and bestows blessings upon the couple.

Sangeet 💃🏽🕺🏽

7:00 PM to 11:00 PM

The word "sangeet" means music. It is the event prior to the official wedding ceremony where the bride and groom's sides are able to connect in the essence of music, let go of any stress, and dance the night away! The Sangeet Ceremony is all about spreading joy and light ✨, dressing in bright colors, and emulating your most filmy Bollywood self. Don't forget to bring your best dance moves (booty shakes are welcome for all ages)

The Nikkah ceremony is the official wedding ceremony where the bride and groom sign a marriage contract and become one in the eyes of God. The couple will submit their vows through the Ismaili Constitution. The purpose of marriage, according to the Holy Qur'an, is the union of the two souls, which are One in essence 📿 After the ceremony, the sisters of the groom tie the ends of a scarf attached to Hassan and Nayaab in a sacred knot, symbolizing everlasting unity between the two families.
