Story

The first time we saw each other was at the Baltimore airport. You see, we actually met on Instagram. We were both bodybuilders and fitness coaches at the time and used the app to find new clients. I was going through some difficult drama in my life and Joey was finishing up seven years of service in the Air Force and was looking for his next career move. It didn’t take us long to start talking.

We were amazed by the numerous coincidences that connected us, despite growing up on opposite ends of the country. One of the sweetest connections we discovered revolved around the symbol of roses in our lives. In fact, my middle name, Rose, is also a name used in his family.

In the midst of a night of distress I reached out to Joey. He was in the middle of purchasing a new truck, but stopped everything he was doing to comfort me. I later got a text that said “If it takes a plane ticket to make you feel better, I will buy twenty.” Well it only took one. A few days later I flew to Baltimore. Joey picked me up at the airport in his new blue truck, affectionately named Rose.

A short time after, he had to make a decision on where to move, as it was time to end his military service and leave Baltimore. He was about to move back to Missouri but I asked him to take a leap of faith and move to Georgia. He did!

Getting In

We recommend flying into Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA). However other nearby airports are Huntsville, Alabama and of course Atlanta is a couple of hours away.

Note

Time Zone Advisory

The most abundant nearby city life and hotel accommodations are in Chattanooga, Tennessee. However, the wedding venue is on the Georgia and Alabama state line. Your phones or smart watches may switch back and forth between time zones while at our wedding. Please be conscientious of this little wedding weekend quirk!

Q & A

Frequently asked questions for our wedding:

When is the RSVP deadline?

Once you receive your invitation in the mail, please RSVP on our website by September 26th.

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for your +1!

Are kids welcome?

We love your toddlers and babies, but younger ones are best left with a loved one at home. We want you to be able to relax and enjoy this celebration with us!

Is there a gifts registry?

We are registered at Amazon and Target!

What should I wear?

Our wedding is a formal affair. Sport coats or suits for men are appropriate and long or tea length dresses for the ladies. Above all, we want you to be with us!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Weather permitting, our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but the reception will be inside.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Please no phones or cameras out during the ceremony. We have it covered and want you to be present with us in all ways.

What time should I arrive?

A 4pm arrival time is best since it can take around ten minutes to get to the venue once you arrive at Blackberry Ridge.

What time zone are wedding activities?

Excellent question! We will be repeating this often to our friends and family. Our wedding is happening on a time zone line. All wedding activities will be in Eastern Standard Time.

I’m traveling from the Atlanta area and the map says to go through Tennessee and then back into Georgia. Is this correct?

Technically yes, staying on the interstate is often the quickest route. however, we highly recommend the slightly longer route through Mentone! It’s more scenic and way less likely to get caught up in Chattanooga traffic.

Registry

There is no greater gift than your presence at our wedding. However, for those inclined to send or bring a gift, we have created a wish list to help.
