Story

We first met through mutual friends while living in Chicago but never imagined that one day we'd be getting married. After hanging out in the same group of friends for a few years, Shea knew there was something special about Sophia and decided to ask her on a date. Our first "date" was going to a Bears game with a few friends and Shea's family, who repeatedly asked Shea why Sophia wasn't his girlfriend.

After a fun first date, it only made sense for our second "date" to be a week long trip to the West Indies. Although a bit out of the ordinary for a second date, it was on that trip that we both knew we had a special connection and were meant to be together. Upon returning to Chicago, many more dates followed and soon we were inseparable.

When Shea was asked to move to San Diego for work, he was hesitant to do so because he would be leaving his family, friends and most importantly Sophia. Knowing he couldn't possibly make the move to San Diego without Sophia, he asked her to take a leap of faith and move with him. While it was a difficult decision for both of us, we eventually made the move to California in July of 2018.

Since moving to San Diego, we have built a new life and home away from home together. The first big change in our lives together came when Shea surprised Sophia with our son/mini goldendoodle, Oliver. Oliver is the best and cutest dog in the world with the perfect amount of being naughty and has been the best addition to our lives together in San Diego.

Shea had known for quite some time that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Sophia by his side and on May 26th, 2019, Shea proposed to Sophia in Chicago. Because of how special Sophia is to Shea, he planned a special proposal on the rooftop of the London House Hotel. Shortly after Sophia said "yes" and made Shea the luckiest guy in the world, the celebration continued with a surprise engagement party at The Dawson where Sophia was completely surprised to see her friends and family, many of which had traveled from out of town.

It's hard to believe that this is just the beginning of our story together. We don't know exactly what the future holds for us but we do know it will be filled with lots of laughs, happiness and love for each other. We can't wait to celebrate our special day with each of you and start a new chapter in our journey in life together as husband and wife.
