Tom & Kate

We can't wait to party with y'all!

Telluride, CO, USA

Our Story

Like all great love stories, ours starts at Cornerhouse in Telluride, CO. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining there, or playing trivia on a Monday night, it's one of Telluride's few remaining establishments where you can make it out with a dinner and a beer under $20.

Kate showed up to play trivia and happened to be meeting members of Tom's team. Tom waited a cool two weeks to ask for Kate's number and our first date (in hindsight) was a trip to Denver for a Colorado Rockies play-off game. If you wrap up a 6hrs each way roadtrip ready to hop back in the car for more conversation...well that's a sign. It was all it took for us and we've been seeking new adventures together ever since. We're so excited for you to come celebrate our biggest adventure yet - surviving wedding planning! Oh and marriage... :)

Early Arrivers Drinks

8:30 PM to 11:00 PM

We know some of you are arriving early and we'd love to start catching up immediately! We've heard it's tough to have a meaningful conversation with all guests on the wedding day - we're hoping to BUCK that trend.
Join us at our favorite watering hole, Last Dollar Saloon a.k.a. The Buck according to locals. We'll have a tab open for all wedding guests...so come for 15min or 1hr, for a margarita or a Topo Chico!

Dress Code

Literally anything you want to wear is acceptable in this establishment.

A few toasts will be woven in, but mostly we will enjoy the scenery of the San Juan Mountains and get hyped for Game Day.
Drinks and food will be provided - come hungry!

Dress Code

Rep your favorite team: hats, jerseys, shirts, Zubaz, your good luck hoodie...any gear is encouraged! Bring a layer for after the sun sets.

Getting In

There are a number of regional airports. In order of recommendation, check out:

Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ) - approx. 1.3hr drive to Telluride. Shuttle service available or rental cars.

Telluride Regional Airport (TEX) - 15min outside of town, this is the closet airport, but typically isn't cheap.

Durango - La Plata County Airport (DRO) - approx. 2hr drive to Telluride. Shuttle service available, but pricier than Montrose. Rental cars also an option.

Denver International Airport (DEN) - about 6hr drive from Telluride. Yep...farther than you'd think.

Car

Getting to Telluride

There are a number of shuttle services to get you from Montrose Airport or Durango Airport to Telluride.

Telluride Express has the largest fleet and is our recommended option. Mention either the bride or groom by name for a 10% discount.
Mountain Limo is the other regional shuttle service. Reliable as well!
We recommend booking shuttles at least 4wks out.

You won't need a rental car to experience Telluride's charm, but one can be rented in Telluride or at any of the regional airports.

September is a busy time in Telluride - book as early as you can! The weekend before the wedding is the Telluride Blues & Brews festival. We're also expecting 5+ other weddings our very same weekend, a festival - the Autumn Classic (car show), and a road bike race. Got questions? Want advice? Just give a shout and we'd be happy to share our perspective!

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

At this point...NOW! If you haven't RSVPed, we've likely been hunting you down. Let us know either way!

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. There are a number of great babysitting services in the area:

Telluride Sitters -
Annie's Nannies of Telluride -

Please reach out if you have questions!

How should I prepare to be at high altitude?

Our wedding is at over 10,000 ft and Telluride is at 8,750 ft above sea level. If you haven't been at this altitude before or have had issues in the past, start preparing now!
Recommendations:
- See a doctor before you travel. Many doctors prescribe Diamox (acetazolamide) to help with high altitude challenges, as well as dexamethasone.
- Arrive early to get acclimated. We know this isn't realistic for any folks, in which case ease into festivities when you arrive (e.g. drinking!).
- Ascend gradually - spending a night in Montrose before coming up to Telluride can do wonders in helping your body adjust.
- Hydrate! Drink 2x the amount of water you usually do in the lead up to your trip and during.
- Try to hold off on coffee and alcohol consumption, as possible, so minimize the chances of arriving dehydrated. We know this will be hard!
- Go easy on the exercise. Try not to overexert yourself with hiking and other strenuous activities upon arrival. We're happy to recommend hikes!

What does altitude sickness feel like?

The most common symptoms include a headache, feelings of fatigue, dizziness, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting and issues sleeping.
More serious symptoms include shortness of breath while at rest, coughing and weakness.
If you experience the serious symptoms, try to get supplemental oxygen and travel to lower elevation as quickly as possible.

Where can I find oxygen in Telluride?

Grocery stores and most shops with Telluride branded shirts, etc. sell oxygen canisters.
There are a few oxygen bars in town, including Absolute Oxygen Bar and Revive & Thrive Oxygen Bar & IV Lounge. We can't vouch for either, but know they exist.
Larger oxygen machines can be rented for delivery to where you're staying from Alpine Oxygen.

What will the weather be like?

September in Telluride could be any range of weather...but we're hoping it'll be gorgeous! Think highs during the day in the low 70s/upper 60s, with the temperature dropping to the 40s at night. It could very well rain during the day (or snow), if it does it'll be between 12-4pm (most often).
So please pack layers for all events and activities you plan to partake in during your trip. Better to strip off a layer than to wish you had one!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be in a tent. We can't stress enough that the wedding is at a working ranch and closed toed, sturdy shoes are recommended.

What should I wear?

No need to pack the tuxedo or other black-tie picks. Suits are encouraged and ties are optional (though Tom will be wearing one!). Longer dresses will help keep you warm during the ceremony and cocktail hour. We recommend everyone brings a layer as it'll get chillier as the night progresses. Your winter puffy is totally fine - we aren't sticklers!

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Do not wear stiletto heels. Please, please, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or boots. We really discourage heels of any kind, with the exception of heeled boots. You'll be walking around half a mile to the ceremony site and back, so comfortable shoes are recommended. The ground is uneven and we'll mostly be on grass and dirt...even inside the tent.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos, especially because everyone will be looking their best.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

Whom should I call with questions?

Please call Kate for now - 479-466-8880!
