Our Story
Pat and Abbey’s story began as so many of history’s great love stories do – with Pat accidentally crashing a McMahon School holiday party at Brennan’s Place. A hello at the bar that night led to a direct message asking Abbey out on a date. Carefully laid plans to enter into a discrete courtship were blown up almost immediately after they realized the following weekend, they both were attending the same concert with her brother/his buddy Jamie. The jig was up and soon Holyoke was swooning over this cute new townie couple.
These two have been through so many firsts and formative moments over the past five years. They simultaneously earned master’s degrees at night, with many a homework date at Shelburne Coffee. A first-time home purchase on Florence Ave turned into to a first home shared together. They filled the early days of the pandemic with Meals on Wheels deliveries downtown, Pat’s campaign for public office, Abbey’s fourth grade class going remote, and welcoming Indiana – the sweetest little 60-something pound rescue Mastador you ever did meet.
While they are fiercely independent people in their own rights, Pat and Abbey share a common core of beliefs on which their lives and love stand. They believe in family, friendship, community, and public service. They believe in shopping, eating, and drinking locally. They believe in the power of music and the essentialness of nature. Most importantly, they believe in each other. If you’ve read this far, surely you are a part of the wonderful life Pat and Abbey have built for themselves. Thank you for being you. Thank you for being a part of their special day.
