Our Love Story

Adeyosola:
"I was minding my own business when I just noticed a new follow request on Instagram. I checked his profile before I accepted and I remember that it made me laugh because he referred to himself in his bio as “one of the cool kids.

I quickly realized that he was one of my seniors from medical school and pushed him to the “chief zone” immediately. He sent me a DM not too long after following and that was the beginning of our friendship. We exchanged phone numbers after a few conversations in the DM and would video call for hours.

I was still writing my UK medical licensing examinations at this time and he was already practicing in the UK so we had a bit of long-distance intermittently but we managed to make it work. I always addressed him as “chief” but somehow, he managed to leave the “chief zone” and entered the “baby zone”. We thank God for life 😂

On our summer trip to Paris in July 2022, he planned for us to have a private dinner on the rooftop with a view of the Eiffel at The Peninsula, Páris and asked me to marry him. I said Yes!"

Kehinde:
"It's 2019, and I’m scrolling through IG, seeing posts from people I don’t follow. As I’m complaining to myself about Zuckerberg doing what nobody sent him and messing up my feed, I scroll past a post that catches my eye. Wait first, I think. I quickly scroll back up and I’m looking at this beautiful lady and thinking maybe this new layout wasn’t such a bad idea.

It was a good day and I was feeling myself, so I did what any God-fearing man would and slid into the DMs. I want to say the conversation went well, but the second sentence she said to me was ‘thank you chief’. Ouch!

If you went to med school in Nigeria, you probably know what this means. The dreaded chief zone. The bro zone might even be better.

After many days of FaceTiming overnight and waking up beside each other virtually later, look at us now.

2 years after that first conversation, Adeyosola agreed to marry this Chief (😜). It’s been rapturous bliss since then. About to be a lifetime more."

KENNY'S PROPOSAL SPEECH:
“I know accounts may vary but the first time I kissed you, I literally took your breath away and I’ve been striving to keep doing that. You’re the most stubborn, hardest girl and also the most caring and loving person I know. I believe our love story is only just starting. I started seeing my life with you a while back and since then, I haven’t been able to stop.

I love you so much that I want to spend forever with you and I hope you’ll say yes. Will you marry me? ”
