Story

It was the classic (modern) love story: Coffee meets Bagel at a wine bar in Gramercy.

Ajay arrived with his backpack, returning from a meeting in Princeton. Seema showed up with a big smile and a doubt in her head: "This guy lives in Princeton? This is not going to work out."

But of course Ajay lived just 7 blocks away, and they bonded over their (15? 16? 17?) friends in common, including Best Man Nigel Cordeiro.

Over their next few dates, they talked about their mutual experiences in the Chocolate business, curiosity in Bitcoin, love of board games... and the rest is history.

The Internet connected us, but experiencing and exploring life together helped us fall in love. 3.5 years and 7 countries later, we are celebrating our love for each other, and want you to join us!

How did you first meet?

A wonderful app called Coffee meets Bagel - and then in person at a wine bar in Manhattan.

What was your most memorable date?

One Valentine's Day, Ajay surprised Seema with a hip hop dance class, where they busted their moves (and their butts) dancing along to Beyonce.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Not sure! But somewhere new: Patagonia, Philippines, or maybe New Zealand.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Sri Lanka - where we started with a hike of Sigiriya rock in a thunderstorm, then explored an organic tea/spice plantation and ended our trip beachside in Mirissa.

Ajay, when did you know?

October 30th, 2015. My 36th birthday. After a fun night of birthday board games and ice cream with friends, I think we're packing for a trip upstate. But I know that Seema has a surprise up her sleeve. Soon, instead of going to bed, we're on a flight to LA, and when we land, Best Man Nigel Cordeiro surprises us at the airport. From there, a boxing class (where Seema is the most pacifist boxer in the room), and later that night, a homemade Paleo meal with friends made by Seema and Nigel. At that point I realized: this woman is amazing.

Seema, when did you know?

When we went to Universal Studios with my parents and brother, on Ajay's first vacation with the Shahs. Seeing Ajay's face in Harry Potter land, all his nerdy goofiness and childlike enthusiasm, just made me fall in love with him.
