Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Please RSVP by May 1st, so we can have an accurate headcount :)
Are kids welcome?
As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception.
Can I bring a date?
At this time we cannot accommodate +1s. If you would like to bring a date or friend please let us know, and if someone can't make it we would be happy for them come!
What will the weather be like?
The area is known for warm weather this time of year with an average of 20-30 C (or 68-86 F for our Americans). While we have a rain and wildfire smoke plan in place, please be prepared that the weather may be a bit cooler or warmer on the day.
Where should I park?
There is parking at the venue - Fraser Valley River Lodge.
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes, please let us know if you have mobility requirements so we can pass along this information to the venue.
What should I wear?
Please see our schedule for the dress code. Other than that wear what makes you happy and you can dance in!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is outdoors (direct sunlight), but rest will move between indoors and outdoors. In the chance there is rain or wildfire smoke the wedding will move inside.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Wear what you feel comfortable and cute in - with some exceptions. As the ceremony will take place on the grass and there is a gravel walkway to get there, please choose footwear that wont leave you wobbling.
Will there be dancing?
Andrew is a Barrett - dancing will be one of the main events of the wedding
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
Yes! The venue is gorgeous and we are so excited to see your moments. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.
Will food be served?
Oh yeah. We will be having light snacks at cocktail hour, a buffet for dinner and maybe a surprise treat in the evening. On your RSVP you can put if you have any dietary restrictions or allergies.
What does transportation look like in the area?
Unfortunately there are not Ubers/Rideshares or public transit options in the area. We are currently looking into shuttle options for guests and will keep you updated. If you are planning to drive please arrange a designated driver. Also please don't walk - there are bears in the area.
Wait......there are bears in the area???
There are! Luckily bears are notorious for hating noise and we plan to be dancing the night away. The venue itself is also fenced to keep out wildlife. The only animal you will probably see are the buffalo adjacent to the property.
Will there be events leading up or after the wedding ceremony itself?
We will be hosting a cocktail reception the night before the wedding. As we will be busy the week before with work and final preparations this will be our first time seeing our guests and we are so excited to welcome you there.
Ok - I think we have everything covered! We are excited to see you soon.
We are too :D We are so lucky to have so many people surrounding us on our big day. Many of you are traveling (actually all of you) and we can't put into words how much we appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to go through and please reach out if any other questions pop up prior to our big day.
