Nearest airport is Preveza (PVK). There are direct flights most days of the week from London (LHR with BA on Wed/Sat/Sun, LGW with Easyjet on Mon/Wed/Fri/Sat/Sun or TUI on Wed/Sun, STN with Jet2 on Wed/Sun) and Manchester (Easyjet on Wed/Sun, TUI & Jet2 on Sun).

Greek weddings start quite late in the day (early evening) and tend to go till the small hours, so we'd definitely recommend avoiding returning on Sunday, especially with flights early in the day!

We find that roughly two months in advance is the best time to book flights price-wise, but this varies a little bit year-on-year so we would recommend keeping an eye on prices. We use the Google Flights tracker which allows you to select exactly which flights you're interested in and sends you email alerts whenever the price changes.

Lefkada is roughly a 20-minute drive from Preveza airport (no ferries involved, there is a floating bridge). We recommend booking a car for the duration of your stay in Lefkada, as public transport is minimal. We are hoping to get some good prices for car rental both from Lefkada and Preveza airport and we'll add details here when available. If you'd rather rent a car from Lefkada (maybe you want it only for part of your trip) we can help arrange transfers from and to the airport.

Lefkada town is at the north of the island. We recommend you base yourselves either in or close to town, for best access to bars, restaurants etc. Alternatively, there are plenty of villas on either the west or east coast, the east side being more kid-friendly, though the west side is in our opinion much prettier, with incredible views and sunsets. Feel free to contact us directly if you have questions about a particular area of the island, a hotel etc.
