The Dirty Truth

How did you first meet?

Day 1:
Joel - Staffing Sales Manager
Alex - New IT Recruiter
(Depending on who you talk to, Alex kind of reports to Joel)

Joel sees Alex, Joel likes Alex and the dress she's wearing. Joel does not talk to Alex for 5 months because Joel is afraid of a lawsuit.... and well he's just afraid. Alex gets a promotion! This makes Joel excited, and concerned for his job...

Day 150 give or take:
Joel - Staffing Sales Manager
Alex - Staffing Sales Manager

Joel is discussing a Sales Contract with Contract/HR Manager who in the middle of reviewing legal terms confronts Joel about his feelings for Alex and encourages Joel to stop being a baby.

Who made the first move? How?

The greatest thing about two colleagues and sports fans dating during the fall is that there is always a plethora of reasons or excuses to hang out after work. Hawks, Falcons or College Football (See Engagement Photos... Go Dawgs!!) there seemed to always be a reason to hang out after work and discuss each other's crazy day in the wonderful world of IT Staffing. Topics often included Alex's awesome manager.... or the current game on display at our two favorite sports bars, The Bird or Wing Factory. Sometimes colleagues would join us, sometimes not... And on one fateful night, everyone that Joel invited to The Bird just 'happened' to not show up. The rest as they say... is history...

Who's going to take out the trash?

Now this is a tricky question. Being a couple of the 21st century, duties tend to get split right down the middle, execution is always a different story. The tricky part, however, is what is the definition of 'trash' and 'out'? Does trash represent what goes into a bag, or the dozens of Amazon boxes Jeff Bezos seems to think we need weekly? And as far as out... well, outside the backdoor or fifteen more feet to the back gate and into the Garbage Can are two very... very different things.

What's your favorite activity together?

We asked and were given permission to bunk our beds so we could have room for so many more activities! If you ask Alex, "Joel's gourmet cooking, cuddling to a Dick Wolf classic or debating the greatness of Jason Terry does it for her EVERY time." While Joel looks to the finer things in life, like dragging Alex to the latest concert touring through the A or paddling down the 'hooch, anytime spent together is sure to be mixed with lots of laughs and good times.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

As of Stardate 94775.29... First Mate J Head is still exploring the infinite options and opportunities to ski, sun, booze and recover. Our mission, if we chose to accept it, will be to take an extended amount of time off at the end of 2017 to visit a snowy destination for downhill and jacuzzi activities followed buy a more tropical climate soaked in umbrella drinks. This message will self destruct in 3... 2... 1...

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Something Joel cooked! Bacon laced Brussel Sprouts, Reverse Seared Filet Mignon, Handmade Sweet Potato Gnocchi... I mean, there's a lot to chose from. This guy can cook!

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Over the course of the last few years, we've shared some wonderful memories and breathtaking adventures with each other, family and friends. Whether island hopping in the BVI with Captain Mike and First Mate Dean, sightseeing in Vancouver for some great friends wedding, trips to Vegas with Chuck and Holly, weekends away to High Hampton courtesy of Angele, weekenders to the Classic City with Sam and Tammy OR taking in dinner and a Hawks game... every day brings a new opportunity for adventure to explore our world and life with each other.
