Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

Allison definitely did. She had a bet with officiant Brad that she would sink her claws into him.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Probably Peter...

What was your most memorable date?

For me (Allison) it was probably our first date. I had been waiting a long time for him to ask me out on an official date. He waited til the last minute to get reservations so we ate around closing time. Strangely enough one of the cooks ended up proposing to his girlfriend while we awkwardly watched...

What's your favorite activity together?

Watching forged in fire.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

TBD.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Little Jumbo (all meals) in Victoria, BC.

We’re on the same page about

Jersey Mike's

We are regulars at

Loki Lounge aka our living room (hey! it's been a pandemic)

Travel Details

We’re getting married at Roche Harbor on San Juan Island. The island is part of the San Juan Islands archipelago in Washington State and can be accessed by water or by air — or some combination. Roche Harbor is on the northwest corner of the island — about a 15 minute drive from Friday Harbor, the main town on the island. We highly recommend carpooling with family and/or friends!

Plane

Getting In

We recommend flying into Seattle–Tacoma International Airport! From there you can rent a car or take Uber or Lyft to the direct ferry from downtown Seattle.

Car

Ferry

If you’re coming from the Seattle area, or renting a car at Sea-Tac airport, drive north on Interstate 5 through Seattle to the Burlington exit (230). Then drive west to Anacortes. From Sea-Tac this drive takes about 1.75 hours if traffic is good. (Sadly, it rarely is) Follow the signs to the Anacortes Ferry Terminal (all the way through town).

Take the ferry that goes to Friday Harbor on San Juan Island. The Fall 2022 schedule can be downloaded here: .

Washington State Ferries has a reservation system for the San Juan Islands. Making a reservation is highly recommended if you are driving, .

You can also park at the terminal and walk onto the ferry. There is a trolley to the resort as well as taxis available.

Word of caution: try to get to the ferry terminal before for your departure time. Riders are advised to arrive 30 – 60 minutes early. Washington State Ferries collect charges when you’re traveling Westbound for the vehicle and passengers. You don’t pay when returning to the mainland. Current fares are $70.90/vehicle and $14.50/per passenger (seniors and youths half price).
Be sure to take the ferry schedule into account when planning your flight reservations! The ferry ride takes an hour to two hours depending on which route you catch. The ferry takes you across Rosario Straight, through Thatcher Pass, and across San Juan Channel. It is a world class ride!

Plane

Flying Directly to the Island!

Ball out. You can fly directly to the island via Kenmore Air. They offer a couple of different options. The first is to fly via seaplane from Seattle’s Lake Union directly to Roche Harbor. Kenmore Air has a shuttle bus that will take you from the airport to Lake Union. It is an extra $20.00 plus tax.

There is a 25 pound baggage limit because of the float plane. Kenmore Air also flies from Boeing Field in Seattle to Friday Harbor airport on San Juan Island. They have a shuttle that will take you from Sea-Tac to Boeing field about 15 minutes away. For these planes there is a 50 pound baggage limit.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by June 1st, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for your +1!

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the ceremony or reception. However, we recognize that some of you will be traveling with your kids, so please know they are welcome at the Friday welcome party! Please reach out if you have questions!

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Washington, all of you out-of-towners! The weather here can be funny. During the day, the weather in Seattle should be beautiful, averaging 75-80 degrees, but will get chilly at night. Please bring some warm layers for the evening and always have a rain jacket on hand, just in case :)

Where should I park?

Parking is free for all resort guests.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, and we will have a golf cart available for anyone needing assistance getting around the property!

What should I wear?

Please see our Schedule for the dress code.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be hybrid indoor/outdoor with fire and heaters.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Tall heels may be a little tricky as you'll be walking around on cobblestones, docks, and beaches for various events. We are not responsible for your broken ankles and/or bruised knees!

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

Whom should I call with questions?

Please email Allison at allisontowne@gmail.com for any questions!
