We can't wait to share our special day with you!

Story

It all started with a Q&A. In typical HR fashion, Ally had created a initial screen for dating candidates which Matt thought was weird, but efficient, and they scheduled their first date for an Underdog event at Camp Trippalindee.

After sharing some of their favorite music and events with each other, including Nerd Nite, A Very Potter Musical, Rod Tuffcurls and the Bench Press, and Ninja Sex Party, Matt and Ally decided to make things official on November 3, 2019.

Since then they’ve adopted an Underdog of their own, traveled around the country, and seen some of their favorite bands in concert.

Now Ally and Matt have decided to make things even more official by inviting all of you to witness as they share their commitment to one another.

Tidbits

What was your most memorable date?

After their second date, Matt asked Ally if she wanted to go to Chicago with him in a few weeks to see one of his favorite bands, Ninja Sex Party. Since she barely knew him, Ally said "Maybe, but probably not." As time passed, and they got to know each other better, Ally decided to take a chance and attend. It ended up being one of the best concerts Matt and Ally have attended yet!

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

St. Louis! We spent a long weekend enjoying the last remnants of summer warmth in St. Louis and exploring the City Museum. Ally spent the whole time trying to summon the courage to tell Matt she loved him (she was not successful until several weeks after they got back).

What's your favorite activity together?

We love getting dressed up to go out for a night of fine dining, but are equally thrilled to stay in and play board games or Magic: The Gathering with friends.

The dorkiest thing about us is

.... we've met, right?
Ally has graduated from Nerd Nite Speaker to Nerd Nite Boss, but still takes notes at every event.
Matt has an entire bookshelf dedicated to obscure Lord of the Rings books.
We spend most of our time with friends playing D&D or Magic.
Take your pick of which one is the dorkiest

We take pride in

We're most proud of the life we've built together so far. Our home is full of love and lots of nerdy treasures and mementos of our travels together.

We recommend flying into the Madison or Milwaukee airports. Chicago is also an option, but may be more difficult depending on weather.

There are plenty of rental car options close to the Milwaukee airport. If you do not want to rent a car, the Badger Bus is also available. Tickets are about $25 each way.

Car

There are plenty of rental car options close to the Chicago airport. If you do not want to rent a car, we recommend the Van Galder Bus, operated by Coach USA. Tickets are about $35 each way.

Note

The wedding is the same weekend as the Wisconsin State Wrestling Tournament.

Please make your arrangements as soon as possible for the best rates and availability. Keep in mind that many hotels may be full of rowdy high school wrestlers.

The most meaningful gift you could give us is your time, either at our wedding or your thoughtful contributions to our online guest book (link in FAQs) or both! However, if you still wish to give us a more physical gift, we've put together a wish-list with some ideas.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Formal invites will be sent around November. Once received, please RSVP by January 24th, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite to see all invited guests in your group! This is a celebration for our closest friends and family and while we would love to meet all the people that are important to you too, we'd like to focus on a smaller group for our wedding day.

Are kids welcome?

We love you and your kids! Children are welcome at the ceremony and reception. However, if you would prefer to enjoy a night without your children, text us or email anmgethitched@gmail.com, we have a list of available babysitters in the Madison area.

What will the weather be like?

The good news - the venue is entirely indoors so once you're there you won't need to leave until the night is over.

The bad news - it's February in Wisconsin which means the weather can be anything from a beautiful 40 degrees to a cool 10 degrees with snow and wind (which means wind chill). Pack layers and when in doubt bring more layers.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of parking on site at the Wisconsin Masonic Center. Feel free to leave your car in the lot Saturday night if you care to enjoy the bar.

What should I wear?

There is no specific dress code, we want all our guests to look and feel their best! If you have a certain outfit that you've been dying for the right occasion to wear, consider this your chance! We will not have a wedding party, so there is no chance of clashing with the bridesmaids.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We've hired an amazing photographer who will be capturing our ceremony! We ask that you do not take photos during the ceremony so you can focus on being present in the moment. We promise we'll share all the amazing pictures later!
