We hit it off 4 years ago. We had a kid, but this you know. We worked together; fell in love. We stick together through push and shove. I was the boss, but she is now. Please come and hear our wedding vows. A special weekend at the lake. You better come, for goodness sake. À Point Comfort, en Québec, là où 31 et Pemi intersecte. Dress your best, so you look cute, and don't forget your bathing suit.
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
We worked together at Table 17.
Who made the first move? How?
Alynn was playing hard to get. David had to, quite literally, chase her down the street.
What was your most memorable date?
Our first official date started at a Blue Jays game and finished at 416 Snackbar. We talked and learned about each other. And laughed. A lot. We don't recall who won the ballgame, but that's not the point of the story, is it?
Rehearsal Dinner - Wedding party and immediate family
4:30 PM
Let's get together and make sure we all know where to stand and what to say. Afterwards, Kathy & Jim Upper would like to thank everyone for being an important part of our wedding.
When you arrive in Point-Comfort, look for the Smurf on your right. Next you will pass the entrance to the club, and then the club itself on your left. Next up on your left, you will find the Club Manager's office, which looks like a small cottage. Some of our wedding entourage will be there to greet you, direct you to your assigned cottage, and answer all of your questions.
You have arrived for the weekend...would you like a drink? Perhaps something to eat? Maybe you would like to get a lay of the land and figure out where you'll be sleeping all weekend. We will brief you on the details specific to your stay.
Shuttles will leave from the Clubhouse after dinner on Saturday to take guests back to their lodgings whether that be cottages or the Chateau Logue in Maniwaki.
The Gatineau Fish & Game Club is the hub for activities for the weekend. This is the map that will lead you there from Toronto. Driving to Ottawa and then up the 105 is the fastest route but driving backcountry along highway 7 and up through Renfrew is the prettiest. That link is here: goo.gl/maps/1taW3ssjazu
Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport (YOW)
Ottawa is a pleasant one-and-a-half hour drive from the lake. Car rentals are available; if you're on the same plane, save our planet and carpool!
Assigned Cottages
We have secured cottages on 31 Mile Lake and Lake Pemichangan. You will be close to all of the action. Your housemates have been selected, with care, for optimal compatibility. We will have shuttle services between the cottages and the Gatineau Fish & Game Club on the day of the wedding. Please leave your cars at home!
We have set aside a block of rooms at the Chateau Logue in Maniwaki, about a 45 minute drive from the Club. Please ask for Melanie Gaudreau and mention "Le Mariage de Alynn Casgrain et David Upper". There will also be a shuttle service running between the Chateau Logue and the Gatineau Fish & Game Club on Saturday. Shuttle will depart Maniwaki at 1:30pm for the wedding ceremony. Please be prompt!
Saturday morning will be a do-it-yourself affair; here are some suggestions for maximum fun and relaxation. Whatever you do, please be on time for the wedding; the ceremony starts promptly at 3pm!
Fix yourself breakfast: For great pork sausages and bacon, good chicken and bread, head to the butcher shop Boucherie Gauthier. 85 Rue Saint Joseph, Gracefield, QC J0X 1W0,
Get your eggs and OJ at the Metro located across and a little further up the road from Gauthier's. At this fully-stocked grocery, you'll find fresh fruit and vegetables, ready to eat meals and more. 27 rue Principale, Gracefield, QC, J0X 1W0.
For an early lunch on Saturday: Drive into town and hit up a casse-croute for burgers, fries and pogos: we recommend Chez Jo-Jo: 36 Rue Saint Joseph, Gracefield, QC J0X 1Y0.
Go for a walk, go for a swim: We highly recommend making friends with Club members Friday night. They make the best tour guides. And you must take a dip in the glorious lake!
