The wedding
Welcome to our world wedding tour!
As we come from opposite ends of the worlds and both share a passion for travelling we want to invite our guests on a journey with us. We've decided to meet in the middle of our two homes and get married in one of the prettiest place we've ever been to, Santorini Greece.
The wedding ceremony in Greece will be small and intimate, followed by wedding celebrations in Iceland and Australia. You are invited to ALL of our wedding celebrations and you may choose to attend one or all of them :) Please RSVP to each stop on our worldtour by clicking through the dates at the top.
We are so excited to have you be a part of our big day ❤

The Beginning
How did he meet her?
We met on a blind date, introduced to each other by our phones, on a cold December night in a warm and familiar restaurant downtown. It started as a nervous coversation between strangers and ended many many hours later as the beginning of a friendship after having covered life, politics, religion, family, careers and love. You know, casual chit chat.
She was immaculately dressed, big heels, red lips and a magnificent coat. She didn't look like many of the engineers I had met before. I think thats why I was so persistent to see her again.
3 years later and she is still agreeing to see me, with our intention to now see each other everyday for the rest of our lives, and I couldn't be happier about it.
How did she meet him?
In November 2013, I finally gave into the peer pressure and tried the Tinder app. When I was about to give up on all these dull pickup lines, I got a message that really grabbed my attention. There was this guy with a cute smile that was complimenting my outfit (solid way to get a fashion lover to notice you). It didn‘t hurt that this guy happened to be from Australia, a magical country far far away with white beaches, sexy accents and a potential for adventures.
After chatting for a bit, I realized that there was much more to this guy than his eye for a good outfit and cute accent. He was extremely intelligent, kind, funny and a little weird – just like me.
He asked me out and our first date took place on December 13th in 2013 (to top it off, it was Friday the 13th). Exactly 3 years later, after countless worldtrips and other adventures - we got engaged ❤
It‘s safe to say that 13 is our lucky number.

Travel
How to get there ?
Santorini is a Greek island in the Aegan sea, reachable by both air and sea.
For our Australian guests, you can fly to Athens via Dubai with Qantas/Emirates or to Athens via Doha with Qatar Airways. From Athens you can either catch a ferry ride () or a short domestic flight (for example Ryanair or Olympic air).
For our Icelandic/European guests, click the link below for suggestions on how to easily get to and from Santorini, sorted by day of the week.
Where to stay ?
Oia is our favorite part of Santorini, located on the Northern part of the island. This is where we'll be staying and highly recommend our guests to do the same. Simply google it and you'll see how pretty it is :) We're staying close to the café "Passagio", which will be the meeting point for the wedding activities. "Nik Nominouk" is the main walking street in Oia, home to most of the cafés, shops and restaurants. Pick a hotel/airbnb close to that street and you're golden.
We're getting married in the town of Imerovigli, 15 minutes from Oia. This is a cute town and a good option too, but not as accessible and charming as Oia.
Fira is the capital of Santorini, and a popular stop for cruise ships. We wouldn‘t recommend staying in Fira as it is more busy and touristy than the other parts of Santorini.
Click the link below to see some suggestions for hotels/airbnb's in and around Oia. If you need any help with finding accommodation, please contact us and we'll gladly assist :)
About Santorini
Santorini is a beautiful little island in the Aegan sea. A quick demonstration of how small it actually is, Santorini is 76 km2 while Iceland is 103.000 km2 and Australia 7.700.000.000 km2.
The island shares a lot of similarities with Iceland as they were both formed in a volcanic eruption under water. Although the two islands have very different climates; they both feature black beaches, geothermal activity, mountainous landscapes and sometimes strong winds. The island’s iconic caldera was formed thousands of years ago when the center of the island collapsed, creating the tall breathtaking cliffs that make the island so unique.
The population of Santorini is roughly 16.000 although 500.000 tourists visit the island every year. Most tourists quickly visit the island on a day tour during a cruise ship layover.
Santorini has several little villages scattered around the island. The largest ones are Fira (the capital), Oia, Imerovigli and Firostefani. Fira is where most of the cruise ships dock and can therefore be a bit touristy. In the bride and groom’s humble opinion, it´s the least exciting place on the island. Oia is the most beautiful town by far; with it’s gorgeous hillside houses, stunning sunset views, amazing restaurants and just an overall calm and relaxing atmosphere. Imerovigli and Firostefani are cute little resort villages, located next to each other. The ceremony and reception will take place in Imerovigli.
Santorini’s main industry is tourism with the “high season” ranging from May-September. Your bride and groom visited the island in October 2015 which was absolutely the perfect time to visit. Mild temperatures and less crowds 😊
Whom should I call with questions?
Please refer to the wedding party section on our website. Julia, our wedding planner in Greece, will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have. If you want to participate in the reception, please contact our reception hosts.
You may contact the bride and groom at anytime - but please respect their privacy on the wedding day 😊
What should I wear?
The dresscode for the welcome drink & wedding day is "casual dressy". I always have to google what each dresscode means so here is a guideline:
Guys: a tuxedo and tie is too fancy but shorts and sneakers is a bit too casual. A casual suit or nice jeans&shirt is appropriate. Skip the tie, the groom is not even wearing one 😊
Girls: Dresses, jumpsuits, skirts&tops - all fine. Just leave the sneakers and ballgowns at home 😊
Please keep in mind that the wedding reception takes place outside so take a jacket/sweater/shawl to throw on after the sun sets.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
As the towns are mainly located on the caldera (cliffside), the bride recommends leaving your high heels and stilettos at home. Flats and low block heels are the way to go in Santorini, with all those steps and cobblestone roads.
What is the food like in Santorini ?
Santorini is not only beautiful; the island has some of the most amazing food and wine in the world. The bride and groom recommend trying a glass of Assyrtiko (white), Mavrodragano (red) and Vinsanto (dessert vine). You should try to have as many meals a day as you possibly can and try to visit at least one of the island’s lovely vineyards during your stay. Don’t worry about planning ahead, there will be an extensive information package about what to do, eat & drink in Santorini when you arrive 😊
How do I get from the airport to my hotel ?
The best way to get from the airport to your hotel is via taxi. Have your hotel address readily available and don’t be alarmed if the cab driver picks up more passengers during your ride – perfectly normal for such a small island.
What's the weather like ? What should I pack ?
You can expect mild temperatures ranging from 20-25°C. The evenings might get slightly chilly, especially since the island does experience some ocean breeze. Luckily, there is almost no chance of rain for this time of year.
Girls: dresses/shorts/skirts during the day and throwing on a light sweater in the evenings.
Guys: shorts/long pants and shirts.
Can I pay with credit card in Santorini ?
EUR is the main currency in Greece and most restaurants and shops except payment by credit card.
Do people speak good English in Greece ?
The people in Santorini are extremely delightful and speak good English, although you should definitely try and practice your Greek. “E-fhari-sto” is the Greek way of saying “thank you” 😉
Do I need to rent a car ?
Getting around in Santorini is fairly easy as there is a bus that runs around the island from morning to midnight. You can get anywhere within each village by foot and as they are mainly built in a hillside they are usually pedestrian-only anyway. Hence, there is no need to rent a car, unless you really want to 😊
Anything else I need to know about Santorini ?
The only thing about Santorini that doesn’t feel like a luxurious resort is their plumbing system. When going to the bathroom, you can’t throw any paper towels in the toilet. Which mean that yes, you’re going to be wiping your ass and throwing the toilet paper in a nearby bin, not the toilet. Unless you want to stifle the system and cause a poop Tsunami in your hotel room (insert poop emoji) 😊
Tell me more about the sunset cruise on the Saturday ?
The cruise will take you around the island of Santorini and makes a few stops along the way. You will have a chance to snorkle, visit a red beach, see a hot spring and admire the gorgeous sunset at sea. There will be a Greek bbq feast on board along with unlimited drinks (hell yeah!). We recommend wearing a bathing suit and a light dress/shirt, towels and snorkling equipment will be provided on the boat.
If you have any more questions please contact us or click through the boat company's website:
Is there a gifts registry?
Yes - we have made a gift registry in collaboration with ZOLA. It's the perfect solution for destination weddings - guests don't need to waste space in their luggage for presents and we don't have to ship them all the way to LA. ZOLA includes free shipping directly to our home in LA. The link to the registry can be found in the "Registry" section.

Registry
We are so thankful for all of you taking the time to come and celebrate with us in Santorini. Your presence is more than enough for us. But for those of you who insist, we have created a gift registry at Zola.com where you can shop around for presents, which will be shipped to our home in LA. Because of space restrictions in our luggage, we kindly ask that you only bring cards to Santorini, not physical presents <3
