Travel & Accommodation

Plane

Manila

We recommend flying into Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport then onwards to Boracay Caticlan Airport.

Return flights from the UK will cost in the region of £650+. It will generally be 1+ stops to get to Manila using major airlines such as KLM, Qatar Airways, Emirates etc. Some popular destinations to fly through are Dubai, Bangkok, Singapore, Taipei, Doha - you may choose to break up your journey by spending time in any of these cities. Generally it will take 18+ hours to reach Manila.

All travellers must complete the eTravel form (immigration and health arrival card) a maximum of 3 days before departure. Once completed, this will generate a QR code which must be presented at check-in and on arrival in Philippines.

Note

Staying in Manila

If you're looking to spend a night or two in Manila we recommend the area of Makati. It takes around 15 minutes in a taxi (without traffic). A couple of hotels that we've stayed at previously are The Fairmont and Seda Residences. Otherwise there are plenty of hotels across the road from the airport if you prefer to stay close by before catching your flight to Boracay.

Tip: Taking a yellow taxi from the airport to Makati should cost around 200-350 PHP. Do not be lured into the white taxis - they are well known for ripping tourists off.

Plane

Manila > Boracay

Cebu Pacific run multiple direct flights every day from Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport to Boracay Caticlan Airport. These start at 5 30am and run approximately every 30/45 minutes until 5 50pm. The flight time is 1 hour. A one way flight will cost around £30, with a return flight being around £65.

On arrival at Boracay Caticlan Airport you will need to travel by boat from the jetty port to the centralized boat station on the island, which takes around 10 minutes. Many hotels offer transfers as part of their rate, if you decide to stay at The Lind then this will be included.

Staying in Boracay

There are a variety of accommodation options on the island including hotels, resorts, apartments, hostels and Airbnbs - there really is something to suit every budget!

A few hotels that we've stayed at previously are:
- The Lind, the best of course!
- Shangri-La, if you're feeling fancy. You won't be disappointed!
- Crimson Resort & Spa, another great option however we suggest not to book their Hillview room if you do not want to be woken up at sunrise by chickens :)
- Henann have several resorts on the island, we stayed at the Crystal Sands which is a great option for being in the middle of all the action.

Our wedding planner is also able to provide assistance in booking accommodation and help you get discounted rates.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have any questions, please check out our Q & A first!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Both the Ceremony and Reception will be outdoors.

What will the weather be like?

The dry season starts in November and runs through April. The temperature remains pretty consistent throughout the year - an average of 30°C during the day and 25°C in the evening.

What should I wear to the wedding?

Island formal. For men, this could be suit trousers/chinos along with a button-down shirt. Tartan is very much welcome, but please do not feel obliged! For the ladies, perhaps colours or a fun print. The key is to avoid any heavy materials.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. We repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. You will be at the beach after all - chunky heels, wedges or sandals are recommended.

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we will not be including them in the Ceremony or during the speeches at the Reception. However, they are welcome to attend everything else including the Welcome Dinner, Boat Trip etc. A creche will be available at the venue during the Ceremony and speeches. Please let us know if you decide to bring your kids, or alternatively get in touch if you have any questions!

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take pictures and share them on our app "Joy". However, we would kindly ask that you refrain from taking pictures during the Ceremony. We want all of you to be fully present and Margarita wants to be able to see your lovely smiling faces as she walks down the aisle.

We also kindly request no photos of us on social media until we post our first picture as Mr & Mrs.

Is there a gifts registry?

Your presence is truly enough if you can make it, no gifts are required.

I would like to see more of the Philippines, where would you recommend?

We have only been to a handful of Philippines 7,640 islands, however the few that we have had the pleasure of visiting have truly been paradise!

First up - Siargao, where we got engaged. Known as the "Surfing Capital of the Philippines", it has white sand beaches, unique cave pools, palm tree rope swings & all round great vibes.

For those seeking adventure, go to Cebu. This is where you can go canyoneering and whale shark diving.

Finally, El Nido and Coron (part of Palawan) and are amongst the most popular destinations in the Philippines! Both islands have beautiful beaches - El Nido is famous for island hopping as well as kayaking in the Big Lagoon, Coron is a favourite amongst diving/snorkelling enthusiasts.

Whom should I contact with questions?

Please contact Margarita (07590470785) or Andrew (07548983528).

If you need assistance with booking domestic flights, land/boat transfers, accommodation on the island or hair/make-up appointments, then you may contact:
