How did you first meet?
We met at Brian Anderson's 50th Birthday Party. We both noticed each other early in the night, but it was at Knuckleheads in Mayer that we both started asking questions. Shelly Fabel takes credit as our official matchmaker!
Who made the first move? How?
Adam made sure he claimed the seat next to Angie when they left Knuckleheads for the next stop on the party bus. It didn't take long before we were talking about cooking, our favorite beers, family and everything in between. Adam offered to make Angie dinner some night to show off his superb cooking skills. After that initial conversation, we spent the rest of the night talking and laughing and yes even dancing before Adam got Angie's phone number at the end of the night!
Angie wasn't very patient the next day though. By evening when Adam still hadn't made his move, she contacted Fabel's for Adam's number and sent him a text...."Were you serious about making me dinner some night or was that just the Coors Light talking?!" And the rest is history!
What was your most memorable date?
On our first New Year's together we decided to go out for lunch on January 1. Our lunch turned into a 12 hour long date that included 3 waitress shifts at Buffalo Wild Wings! Numerous friends came and went but we stayed hour after hour talking and laughing over cold beer and football games on the big screen! We can have so much fun together doing nothing special! As Adam says, "we would have fun together even if we were stuck at an insurance seminar!" (No offense Jon Bock!!)
What's your favorite activity together?
Definitely cooking together! Some of our favorite moments, best conversations and laugh sessions have occurred over a few beers or a bottle of wine while we cook dinner together!
When/how did you first fall in love with your significant other?
Angie: For me there was no single event or moment in time. I fell a little in love when he sent texts every morning to say good morning and make sure I had gotten to work safe. I fell a little in love when he sat by my side at every Sunday afternoon hockey game even when the Vikings were playing. I fell a little in love when his family became my family. I fell a little in love when he held me every time I cried until it didn't hurt anymore. I fell a little in love when I heard his laugh across a crowded room and with butterflies in my stomach thought he's all mine. I fell a little in love every time we laughed until we had tears in our eyes. I fell a little in love when he choked out "we have a boy" with tears running down his face. I fall more in love with him every day.
Adam: I cannot say there was a specific moment in time when I fell in love with Angie. It was more of a series of events that led me to fall in love with her such as how my family felt about her after meeting her for the very first time, how my closest friends said things like "Angie is awesome" or "she fits right in with us", seeing how compassionate and caring she is with people and their pets and seeing what a great mother she is to her children and now our baby Keegan.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
For our first anniversary, we spent a long weekend in Stillwater! Adam planned all kinds of surprises for Angie along the way, from an Italian cooking class, a Foodies on Foot tour, and a sunset serenaded Gondola ride along the river....every moment of the weekend was perfect in every way!
What nicknames do you have for each other?
Baby and sweet thing!
What quality do you most admire about your significant other?
Angie: Adam has so many qualities I admire....how he always takes care of me and checks in, how he has without hesitation jumped into the kids lives and has become such an awesome hockey dad, his sensitive side and how he always knows exactly what I am feeling and need. But most of all I admire his sense of humor! I can't even begin to count how many times a day he makes me smile or laugh out loud. I find time after time that even at what can be my lowest or most stressful times, Adam's sense of humor has a way of making it all disappear and I find myself smiling despite it all. There is something about Adam that makes me feel that as long as he is by my side, I can handle anything life throws at me. With him by my side, the world is simply a better place.
Adam: Angie is an intelligent, caring, compassionate, loving woman and my best friend. But If I have to pick just one quality I most admire about Angie it's definitely her sense of humor! She makes me laugh just by being herself and doesn't have to work at it. When I see a smile on her face or hear her laugh it
makes my heart happy!
How did you propose?
Christmas 2015. Adam made some cutout props for the kids to take some fun pictures with...Santa hats, elf faces, Naughty and Nice Signs. After the fun photo shoot was finished, Adam called Angie back in to "take one more picture." When Angie got ready to snap the picture, Adam and the kids held up four signs that spelled out "Will You Marry Me?" Angie was so shocked and in tears that according to Adam never did officially answer the question before she flew into his arms!
