Tidbits

How did you first meet?

We were both at the same place at the same time in Elk City, OK. I (Anna) was enjoying a Thursday evening with some friends and Matt was doing the same. Two things in the room caught my attention; the dart board in the corner and the dark-haired, broad-shouldered, good looking boy seated by the entrance. Uncharacteristically, I tapped him on his left shoulder and asked him to play a game of darts. He obliged and much to his dissatisfaction, lost 4 games in a row if my memory serves me correctly. Of all the dart games we've played since then, I still hold the record, don't let him tell you any different.

Who made the first move? How?

I suppose this is a hard one to answer. We respected the friendship we had made on that Thursday night and the first "move" wasn't made until a solid 6+ months later. However, if we had to give an answer, we agree that an interest in one another beyond friendship was growing and didn't fully bloom until our official first date. Which you'll read about momentarily.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Brighton. Until he moves out. Which won't happen until he's 40 so we're set for a while. (But seriously, pray this kid moves out some day.)

What was your most memorable date?

We can count, using only the fingers we have, the true dates we have had solely to ourselves. Reality is that Scout and Brighton are good company and we rarely leave them behind. However, in 2012, Matt planned a series of events in Oklahoma City. When I say planned, I mean he had a green file folder with MapQuest printouts of directions from one location to the next. This is when I realized just how different we were. There were reservations and tickets in sequential order to match his outlined plan. To this day, we are just as different, spontaneity is Anna's style while Matt prefers an itinerary. Anyhow, the date consisted of ice skating, tuxedo fitting for his brother Brad's wedding, a canal ride, a stroll along the Riverwalk, and closing out the night with a delicious dinner and drinks.

What's your favorite activity together?

Sand volleyball hands down. However, this would require active friends which are hard to come by at our age. #pleasejoinus

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Anna is indecisive and Matt doesn't have an opinion either way, this means a decision has yet to be made. One thing is for certain...we can't honeymoon during harvest. #raincheckonthehoneymoon

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

This answer is too easy. Filet mignon, twice baked potato, asparagus, and red wine.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Our most memorable trips are definitely the ones where we get to enjoy extended family. What a happy bonus! One that sticks out for us is our 2020 vacation to Grand Lake in Oklahoma. Nothing beats a week of relaxing in a lake house and boating everyday. The kids can tube hours and the laughter it brings is unmatched.

The most spontaneous thing we’ve done

Meeting in Columbus in 2017 which would rekindle a dormant flame. She was coming from West Virginia and he was coming from Louisiana. Who knew it would lead to our forever together life.

The dorkiest thing about us is

Matt has engineer brain and it often presents itself as symptoms of autism. #facts

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by October 1, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

Can I bring a date?

Of course! Bring a +1 to enjoy the fun!

Are kids welcome?

This isn't even a question, we would love to see both you AND your family!

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Ohio! The weather here can be funny. We're hoping for 70's but reality is that we may see 50's or 60's. Our best advice is check your weather app when the time comes.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking at Everhart.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, and we will have a golf cart available for anyone needing assistance getting around the property!

What should I wear?

Please see our Schedule for the dress code.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be inside.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There are a bunch of grassy/dirt areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or sandals. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We have no doubts that you will take fantastic pictures of the night and would love for you to do so.
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

Whom should I call with questions?

For questions please call or text me (Anna) at 405-255-5551. I promise, you won't be a bother and I'd love to provide answers to help you navigate the weekend.
