Story
Ansel and Claire met while working at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. Ansel was a physiologist working on the Respiratory Sleep Unit and Claire was a nurse on Badger Ward, the respiratory ward. They knew each other for over a year before realising they liked each other in the summer of 2015. Then came a bunch of missed opportunities when their rotas miss matched however on the 2nd October 2015 they finally had their first date watching Michael Mcintyre at the O2 in London.
From then on these two were inseparable and in August 2018 whilst in Disneyland Paris, Ansel finally got down on one knee and asked Claire to become his wife.
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
They've met many times whilst working at GOSH however the big moment came at a friends leaving do when it dawned on both of them that they liked each other.
Who made the first move? How?
There are multiple views on this one. Ansel claims he made the first move asking Claire out however there was a group night out, organised by another friend which was a setup for these two little did they know. After this Claire asked Ansel out during the middle of a night shift and the rest is history.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Ansel for sure, and if he forgets Claire will remind him.
What was your most memorable date?
There are many memorable dates for these two.
2nd October 2015 - Their first date
29th May 2016 - First time they said I love you
22nd Feb 2017 - Moving in together
16th/17th Aug 2018 (depending which time zone you use) - the proposal
And of course 8th Aug 2020 - Their wedding
What's your favorite activity together?
Probably travelling, exploring different cultures and segwaying. Ansel loves cycling and he finally managed to get Claire on a bike, well only once.
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We are hoping to do some travelling, however due the current worldwide situation the honeymoon plans are unconfirmed.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Now this is a difficult one as if you know Ansel and Claire they love eating good food. They also like cooking and while Claire is hands down the better cook, Ansel is not too bad in the kitchen.
They have dined all over the world and could probably list many restaurants but since their early dates Burger and Lobster has always been a favourite.
