Story
We first started dating in 2018, but our love story began much earlier.
Chase grew up in McKinney living next door to Avery’s best friend, Amanda Clark. Although Avery grew up 270 miles away in Houston, she would visit her best friend every summer. Avery made herself comfortable as one of the McKinney neighborhood kids. They all would go swimming, ride razor scooters, and jump on the Mayer’s trampoline. Since they were 9 years old both Chase and Avery would attend church camp together where a special bond formed between the two of them. They might even recall a brief hand holding on a walk back to the cabins one summer.
Both grew up and went their separate ways for a few years until the summer of 2018 when Amanda came home from New York to visit. She gathered friends and family over the course of the weekend first at a local brewery, then at the Rustic in Dallas. Chase offered to walk Avery to her car and the rest is history.
Tidbits
Our favorite weekend activities are
Taking Remi for a walk around White Rock Lake, getting a bite to eat at the Dallas Farmers Market, and staying in to watch a good movie.
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
We treated ourselves to a meal when we visited Nashville. It featured popcorn butter lobster and cotton candy bacon (odd-but amazing!)
What was your most memorable date?
Chase's Answer- Driving through the safari and feeding the giraffes through the sun roof.
Avery's Answer- When Chase took me to see the Dior fashion exhibit at the DMA. I mentioned it briefly months in advance and he showed genuine interest the entire time.
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
Last May we went to Hawaii. We hiked to see waterfalls, went snorkeling, and Chase rented a convertible and had a lot of fun driving all around the island.
We’re on the same page about
What's important to us. Building a family of our own and spending time with the people we love most (you all)!
