Things to Do

There are many things to do in Alabama! Most love to fish, hike and hunt. We also have great food and Northern Alabama is growing. Trip Advisor offers several items that are local to the venue for things to do but don't be afraid to explore!
- Downtown Huntsville is approximately 45 minutes away. You can enjoy Big Spring Park and walk around the area. The Art Museum is downtown as well as some local fare.
- Monte Sano State Park is approximately 40 minutes away and offers some great hiking or biking trails as well as a park area to enjoy the outdoors!
- Downtown Guntersville offers some nice local shops that you can walk around. They have a boardwalk with additional shops and restaurants. We also love Top of the River (restaurant) and Nick loves CrawMama's (I haven't been).

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

Hey, we noticed the RSVP cards / envelopes are wrong (Becky is very aware and made a bit of a boo-boo!)... what should we do to respond?

Please respond via mail and simply write your name on the back of the RSVP card. Or you can RSVP on this site! Thanks for helping out the stressed bride and fixing her mistake!!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by August 31st, so we can have an accurate headcount. :) But you are more than welcome to let us know earlier!

Can I bring a date?

Everyone is allowed a plus 1!

Are kids welcome?

As much as we love your little ones, we are limiting the children in attendance to only those families in the wedding party. Please reach out if you have questions!

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Alabama, all of you out-of-towners! The weather here can be funny; we sometimes hit all four seasons in a day! We are hoping that September provides some cooler weather from our humid summers but should still be in the 70's. The weather in Alabama should be beautiful and sunny with it cooling off a bit more after sunset. The venue does have heating and cooling inside the reception hall but the ceremony is outdoors. Suggest a light jacket for the evening hours or warm-up by one of the two fire pits onsite if needed!

Where should I park?

There is plenty of parking at the reception hall (or Charn as it is called). We will also be offering a shuttle service for those that may not want to drive the back roads of Alabama at night.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, and we will have a golf cart available for anyone needing assistance getting around the property!

What should I wear?

We are hoping everyone comes dressed comfortably and ready to dance! Having said that, it is a wedding (so not pajama-type comfortable) but nothing fancy is required. Come dressed how you feel and ready to have some fun!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception will be indoors; it is called the Charn (church/barn)! It is actually a restored barn with some original pieces still in tact and "rebuilt" with some of the old practices no longer used today. If you get a chance, one of the staff would love to tell you all the details!

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

Calling all ladies! Do not wear stiletto heels. I repeat, do not wear stiletto heels. There is a bunch of grassy/dirt/gravel areas that you might have to walk in so wear chunky heels or sandals or Converse (that's what the ladies in the party are wearing). Again, think comfy over style. Can't have any of you ruining nice shoes or breaking any ankles.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos and share them on our app Joy or with us! We will also have a photobooth for additional memory making!
However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

Whom should I call with questions?

Please call our lovely maid of honor Beth with questions at 847-530-7103.

Attire - what does casual mean?

Check out these websites for some additional information on attire:

www.brides.com/casual-wedding-attire-dress-code-5521776
www.theknot.com/content/what-to-wear-casual

Are there any colors that guests should avoid wearing?

The wedding party is dressing in navy blues and burgundy.. the option is yours if you want to match but that might seem a bit odd... :)

What time will the reception end?

The reception ends at 10pm. This will also be the last shuttle time.

Your presence is enough of a present to us! But for those of you who are stubborn, we've put together a wish-list to help you out.
