Joy Proposal Story: Breanna & Michael

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Michael proposed while hiking in Sedona, Arizona.  Our friends were taking a picture of us when out of nowhere, he dropped down on one knee to pop the question!

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

We are living in Italy, but planning a Southern California wedding. It has been extremely stressful! Our favorite part of the wedding planning process was finding a venue and figuring out our wedding date. It didn’t feel real until that happened.

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Finding a balance between planning the wedding and enjoying this part of our lives together. When we start to feel overwhelmed, we take a break and watch a movie, go for a bike ride, or do another activity together. We don’t want this wedding to take over our lives! Italian wine also helps keep us from going crazy.

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

It gives our guests a lot of information about our love story and current life! It also contains every bit of wedding information including location, our registry, travel accommodations, etc.

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Use the online RSVP section! Several of our guests forgot to send in their RSVP cards but filled out the online one. That saved us from having to reach out and contact them all. One less thing for us to do!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

It’s important to make the wedding day fun and enjoyable for you and your groom. Don’t worry about what the guests are going to think! A wedding is about the two people committing themselves to one another, and it should be a very exciting day! What matters most is at the end of the day, you will be married to the most important person in your life. That is the joy you will have forever! You cannot put a price tag on that.
