Joy Proposal Story: Colin & Christa

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

I proposed in the springtime. A beautiful sunset beach walk turned into the best night of my life when my girlfriend of five years said, “Yes!” Afterward, we spent what seemed like an hour laughing, dancing, and kissing on the beach. As the sun fully went down we walked up to an incredible bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us and had a delicious dinner together. We were joyfully eager to call our families but also incredibly overwhelmed with excitement! We couldn’t stop smiling and enjoying the moment.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Traveling to different venues. We’ve gotten to explore and look for a place to fit our goals of what we want to share with our families and friends on our special day!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

Through teamwork! We both try to take on different aspects of the planning and preparation. My fiance has been absolutely incredible with taking on a lot of responsibility, so I just try to do as much as possible to help her out. I am very lucky to have her!

What is your favorite part of using Joy for your wedding?

The customer experience, user interface, and mobile version of the app are fantastic!

What piece of advice would you give couples to ensure that they use Joy to its fullest potential?

Instead of using paper RSVP’s, encourage your guests to use the electronic RSVP and download the app!

At Joy we believe that even though a wedding lasts a day, joy lasts forever. What does that mean to you?

Even though our wedding will be a fun-filled weekend, what we’re really celebrating is our lifelong journey and bond together. That joy will last a lifetime.
