We first met through mutual friends on a hike, despite going to the same high school. The hike didn’t quite go as planned and resulted in us getting lost in the Santa Monica Mountains. After crawling through brush and sliding down hillsides, we escaped (relatively) unscathed, both physically and socially. Although Aaron didn’t quite make the best first impression, an impression was made nonetheless. A couple years later, we found each other again when we started attending the same college Bible study. We began a friendship and got to know each other better after serving in the Bible study together. We continued to grow closer and closer, and it was clear that Aaron needed to ask me out. After a lot of beating around the bush, meandering, and foot-dragging, he finally asked me out on a date!
True love is a God-given gift that brings people together for a lifetime! The joy of marriage is a privilege and honor.
Aaron, being a consummate sentimentalist, took me on a hike back to where we first met. This time we didn’t get lost, and a good impression was made. The dating continued, and as the months went on, we continued to grow closer. I was in my first year as an elementary school teacher, and he was finishing up film school. As we began to discuss the future, it was clear that we both wanted to embrace it together. The following summer, we went on a trip to Bishop with the same mutual friends that had introduced us. We went on a hike on the Big Pine Creek Trail, and after much suffering and sweat made it to the Big Pine Lakes. This time, Aaron brought a ring and asked me to marry him. I said, “Yes!” We both cried.

Sharing the joy of planning with our best friends and family. They have been so supportive of us and have made the process fun!
By all means, we may not be that sane! What works best for us is taking our time making decisions and spending time with each other on date nights. Whether it’s going to a coffee shop to do some planning or a take-out food night, making decisions together works best!

Joy has made the process of making a wedding website so easy. The first thing that made us love the site was the minimalist look and the fact that it is free! We love everything about it and our guests love it too!
Take engagement photos before creating your Joy website! This way, you can use high-quality photos on your pages, which makes your page look amazing!
