Joy Proposal Story: Katie & Thanit

Give us the proposal details! When? Where? How?

Thanit was acting odd all week. It was New Year’s Eve, we had been out in DC all afternoon, and Thanit suggested a walk along the Reflecting Pool up to the Lincoln Memorial. We reached an opening between the columns and stopped to take a picture. Some friends were hiding a few feet back waiting to capture the moment. Thanit and his friend spotted a baby stroller in direct line of the photo! They both rushed to move it out of the way (Katie pretended not to notice). With the crisis averted, Thanit got down on one knee and asked Katie to marry him.

What has been your favorite experience planning the wedding?

Starting to see it come together and having others excited for us!

How do you stay sane under the pressures of wedding planning?

We make decisions and move on.
