Dyron arrived home from work as Malika was finishing packing up to catch their flight to Buffalo, NY that night. He had been teasing Malika for the past few days about a gift he’ll give her before they leave to spend Christmas in Buffalo. Malika greeted him with a hug and a kiss and Dyron immediately handed her a card. (Malika loves cards!) She opened it with glee and written on the inside was, “All I want for Christmas is you!”. Dyron joked that Malika’s gift had been under her nose all day in her stocking. Unsuspectingly, she went over to the stocking and pulled out a box. When she turned around to ask if this was the gift, Dyron was on one knee and asked, “Will you make it official, and become Mrs. Dyron Givens?” She said, “Are you serious?!” followed by an enthusiastic, “Yes!”
All of it, really. Figuring out what we want our day to be like, finding the venue, taking engagement photos have all been really fun. I think what has made it a really enjoyable experience has been our family and friends. They have been showing us so much love and support!
I try to remember that I am probably the only one who will ever notice anything out of place, so keeping the big picture in mind is really key. I try to focus on the fact that we’ll have everyone we care about in the same place, at the same time!
It was really easy to set up! Joy took the guesswork out of what should I include and how should I make it look. I’m a graphic designer, and it’s so hard to design for yourself sometimes! It also took hours of coding out of my hands – woot! I’m really looking forward to our guests to use Joy to RSVP, use the app, and engage by uploading their pictures to show their perspective of our wedding!
Have fun with it and launch early if you can. You can start getting addresses, potential guest count, and fun input early. It is digital, if you don’t like something, you can change it!
The planning and wedding day will be over so quickly! Our memories, joy, and happiness will last well beyond this one big day!
