Wedding Planning Advice For Joy Couples, By Joy Couples Part 2

Wedding Planning Advice For Joy Couples, By Joy Couples Part 2

My fiancee and I designate one evening a week for wedding planning. That way, both of us know there are no distractions that we can plan for that day (working out, happy hour, etc). Once we get home from work, we make dinner then go over details for the wedding. This makes things much less overwhelming because we are tackling a few tasks on a weekly basis.

Your wedding is just one day. It can be really easy to get stressed out by all the details, people and to-do lists, but don’t let it get to you. It’s helped me to keep it all in perspective. Our wedding day is just the first day of the rest of our new life together!

Joy is great for multi-ceremony weddings. Our wedding day will have two ceremonies, in two locations. The scheduling tool lets me showcase both of the ceremonies with equal importance and the amount of information. Other wedding website builders I looked at made you pick one, and that just wasn’t possible with the way our wedding will be.

Being honest with each other about what’s important to each of us has helped us divide up work. My fiancé is taking care of the dessert and bar portion of dinner, and communicating with our venue event manager, while I’m handling our photographer and DJ, and communicating with our family and guests about the whole day. Both of us can go into Joy and update details as we need to.

Okay! The way we relax is by keeping wedding planning simple. We want people to be the main focus, and celebrating together is our goal. I love planning, and my fiancee is great at brainstorming, so the planning portion has been enjoyable, but it doesn’t consume our time together by any means!

We have our friends involved in everything from photography to making the cake, to doing my hair and makeup, to playing the music. It’s a way to keep costs lows, involve people, and make it personal.

To find the best photographer: Look online for other weddings held at your venue, and find which photographer took the photos you like the best. That person will be familiar with the venue already and know tips for getting the best shots!

To relax during wedding planning stress: we take little 2-3 day trips where we don’t talk about wedding planning! : )
