Are you self-taught or formally trained?<\/h2>\n<p>I discovered my love for photography through my love for film. Since I was very young, I always wanted to know how movies were made, how images and audio could suck your entire consciousness into another world, changing the way you think and feel about life. When I discovered that I could tell stories and touch people\u2019s hearts through images, I became addicted to photography. I studied the history of art and photography at Ryerson University\u2019s School of Image Arts, where I was taught how to create and write about conceptual photography. With that knowledge, I taught myself wedding and portrait photography. Why do you photograph weddings in particular?<\/h2>\n<p>Wedding photography has allowed me to meet so many lovely people and get a raw, intimate perspective into some of the most pivotal and exciting moments in their lives. As stressful as the fast-paced nature of wedding photography can be, getting to spend every weekend hanging out with people, on the happiest day of their lives definitely makes up for it.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_49016\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/benlariviere.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49016\" class=\"wp-image-49016 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/rehearsaluploads.withjoy.com\/uploads\/uploads\/BJL9418-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-49016\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ben Lariviere Photography<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>What piece of advice would you give brides and grooms to ensure that they get wedding photos they love forever?<\/h2>\n<p>The best advice I can give is to get to know your potential photographers and weigh how you feel about them personally with their portfolio. Of course, budget plays a part in selecting your vendors, but remember that your wedding photographer will be with you nearly your <em>entire<\/em> wedding day, so it\u2019s important that you feel comfortable with them. I would also suggest communicating what you want with your photographer, ask them for their suggestions and then trust them fully. If you&#8217;re feeling anxious or uncomfortable, it will show in your photos, so choosing someone who will make you feel comfortable and relaxed is key.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_49014\" style=\"width: 1034px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/benlariviere.com\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-49014\" class=\"wp-image-49014 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/rehearsaluploads.withjoy.com\/uploads\/uploads\/BJL9158-Edit-1024x684.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1024\" height=\"684\"><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-49014\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Ben Lariviere Photography<\/p><\/div>\n<h2>If you weren\u2019t a wedding photographer, what would you be doing?<\/h2>\n<p>If I were to switch careers, I think I would either be an indie film-maker or a podcast producer. What does that mean to you?<\/h2>\n<p>Most of the things you\u2019ll pay for on your wedding day- the food, the flowers, the music, will only last the day. The only things you\u2019ll get to take away are the memories, rings, and photos. By capturing the pure joy of a couple on their wedding day, through images, I can provide them a memento that will allow them to relive all of the moments, big and small, over and over again for all their lives.
