An industrial neighborhood located on the eastern edge of\u00a0Downtown\u00a0Los Angeles (DTLA), the\u00a0Arts District<\/a><\/span>\u00a0is one of Debes’ favorites for\u00a0engagement photography. “Super urban with lots of breweries, this spot is great for a couple that loves exploring L.A., trying new spots, and of course tasting beer!” she says. Striking murals and colorful street art make for eclectic outdoor backdrops, while the\u00a0A+D Architecture and Design Museum<\/a><\/span>\u00a0offers a fantasy of interesting and evolving art-scapes.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Griffith Observatory<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n

An iconic L.A. landmark that’s appeared in an array of films and <\/span>TV shows<\/span>, the <\/span>Griffith Observatory<\/a><\/span><\/span> is housed in a striking, and extremely photogenic, building on Mount<\/span> Hollywood<\/span> in Griffith Park. It is, perhaps, the museum\u2019s most famous site. However, it\u2019s not the only memorable locale. “For the couple that loves art, there are so many gorgeous spots to shoot at around this location, beyond the iconic lamp posts!” Debes says.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. Malibu<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Famous for its dazzling beaches and impressive celebrity homes, Malibu<\/a> stretches along more than 30 miles of the Pacific Coast. The views at Surfrider Beach \u2014 known for its world-class surfing \u2014 are impressive, while beautiful and family-friendly Zuma Beach offers a range of amenities. But it\u2019s El Matador State Beach that is among the most photogenic. “There’s a reason this beach is one of the most photographed \u2014 it\u2019s beautiful!” Debes explains. “There are so many gorgeous parts of it including the keyhole rock and even the view from the top.”<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interesting shops are plentiful at the upscale <\/span>Malibu<\/span> Country Mart and the <\/span>Malibu<\/span> Lumber Yard, but one of the most stunning spots in <\/span>Malibu<\/span> is the <\/span>Getty Villa<\/a><\/span><\/span>. As the original home to the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Villa is set on 64 acres of manicured gardens with breathtaking views of the Pacific, a wonderful place for art lovers to take <\/span>engagement pictures<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

7. Pasadena City Hall<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The\u00a0Santa Monica\u00a0Pier, with its carousel, restaurants and rides, is another frequently-photographed L.A. landmark. \u201cOne of my couples loved going to theme parks together and lived in\u00a0Santa Monica\u00a0at the time, so heading to the\u00a0Santa Monica Pier\u00a0and riding the rollercoaster made so much sense!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

9. Union Station<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The largest railway passenger terminal in the western U.S., Union Station<\/a> in Downtown Los Angeles\u00a0offers a combination of Art Deco, Mission Revival and Streamline Moderne style. Grand in scale and rich in architectural details, such as eight-pointed stars, travertine marble walls and terra cotta floors, the station also features enclosed garden patios for a bit of greenery.
