What transportation will be provided for the guests?
If you added the address of your stay on your RSVP reply card, you will be picked up and dropped off for all events that you replied "yes" to.
If there are no Ubers or Lyfts, how will I get around Kiawah?
Kiawah Island is a small island with almost no Ubers and Lyfts. We recommend renting a car or arranging for transportation to and from the airport. Kiawah Island Resort does provide shuttles for those who booked through Kiawah Island Resort. Transportation will be provided for all wedding events for those who are staying on Kiawah Island. Please provide the address of where you are staying on your reply card and we will arrange for you to be picked up.
What is a "Welcome Party en Blanc"?
"Diner en Blanc" or "Dinner in White" originated in France, as a way to dine with others in the streets of Paris, wearing white as to not distract from the historic scenery. The tradition is now celebrated worldwide, from DC to Singapore. While it isn't required to wear white to our Welcome Party, we encourage it as a fun theme and to draw focus to the stunning surroundings of the Ocean Course. "Casual" white attire - think the photo to the left! Ladies: any white, cream or ivory attire works great! Gentlemen: Khaki pants or shorts and a white button-down or polo will be just fine. Feel free to be as creative as you'd like!
What will the weather be like?
Hot and humid! Expect highs in the mid-80s and lows in the mid-70s. "Feels-Like" temperature will likely be in the low 90s. Scattered thunderstorms are always possible this time of year! Don't forget sunblock and bug spray!
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
The Welcome Party on Friday will be outdoors and tented with some indoor seating. On Saturday, the wedding ceremony and cocktail hour will take place outside, the reception and after-party will be indoors. Prepare to be outside for about an hour and a half on Saturday.
What is "Black Tie Optional"?
From Brides Magazine: "Black-tie optional is slightly less formal than black-tie attire, and as a result, it allows for a little more flexibility when it comes to your ensemble. “Men are not required to wear tuxes, but it's a plus if they do," "Women should wear full-length dresses, but if someone is wearing a cocktail dress, it would be acceptable.” Please note the Wedding Ceremony will be taking place on the Grand Lawn, because of this, I discourage ladies from wearing stilettos or heels that may sink into the lawn.
If I want to forgo the provided transportation, will there be parking for me to drive myself?
Absolutely! Parking is available at both the Ocean Course and the Sanctuary.
Travel
Getting In
We recommend flying into Charleston International Airport! Kiawah Island is located about 33 miles from the Airport, about a 45 minute drive. An Uber or a Taxi should be able to take you there! If you plan on driving, it will be approximately a 7.5 hour drive from the Washington, DC area.
Stay on Kiawah Island
All wedding events will take place on Kiawah Island. Accommodations range from standard hotel rooms to villas and full homes. Summer is high season on Kiawah, so we recommend booking as soon as possible to guarantee preferred lodging. Please look on home rental websites like VRBO or AirBNB for villa or home rentals (this is the most cost effective, especially if you plan on renting with others). Check the map to make sure you are renting on Kiawah Island as rentals from other nearby towns will appear. For hotel rooms, look at the Marriott Andell Inn and The Sanctuary. Transportation will be available to everyone staying on Kiawah Island to all wedding events.

Getting Around
Ubers and Lyfts are very limited on Kiawah Island, so if you plan on exploring the Island, you may want to consider renting a car or contacting an Island transportation service. Kiawah Island Resort offers Island transportation for those staying at The Sanctuary or those who rented homes and villas through Kiawah Island Resort. Transportation will be provided to and from wedding events for those staying on Kiawah Island.

The Sanctuary at Kiawah Island
The Sanctuary is where all of the wedding events on Saturday, June 15th will take place. Please call 1-866-763-5056 for assistance with reservations. You will be connected to a reservations agent at that time. Please use code 20722 or mention the Kutyn/Muha Wedding to receive 10% off nightly rates on villas, rooms, and homes at the Sanctuary. For guests booking online, please note in the comments section the wedding name & include the code 20722, however, please note the reservations will not be automatically secured at the group rate/discount at the time of booking.
