Story

Carl and Bri met during their first few years of college at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville. Though they both studied engineering, they met not in class, but through the local sorority Kappa Alpha Sigma. Bri was a junior active member at the time Carl was pledging to be a Honie (male member). The pair hit it off as friends, but Carl changed that status when he asked Bri to be his girlfriend at the Delta Sigma Phi fraternity Spring 2015 banquet.

Tidbits

What was your most memorable date?

Bri- During the couple's spring break trip to Seattle, Bri and Carl were passing time while they waited for Carl's brother Michael to get off of work at the Starbucks Roastery. To pass the time, they each picked out a book they thought the other person would like and read it while sipping warm beverages. After Michael got off work the three explored local bars and peered into the cat cafe windows.

Carl- On one of their first dates, Carl borrowed his fraternity brother's moped and took Bri out to the M where they climbed to the top and looked out over Platteville.

What's your favorite activity together?

Hanging out with their cats and traveling.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Bri- The Barrymore in Las Vegas Nevada. Bri was visiting Carl in Vegas for his birthday while he was on his internship in the summer of 2019. Bri was excited because the Barrymore was described using her favorite word "swanky". They shared a bottle of wine and each had an amazing steak, but the atmosphere was once in a lifetime (and definitely swanky).

Carl- Top of the Strat in Las Vegas, Nevada. For Carl's birthday dinner, Bri set up reservations at Top of the Strat during Sunset. The meal consisted of four courses, and as they ate, the restaurant rotated above the Vegas skyline. Carl loved the view of Bri with the orange sunset glow reflecting off the buildings. They were able to relax and feel like tourists for the evening.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Europe! To be specific - Netherlands, France, Switzerland, Italy, and Hungary

The most spontaneous thing we’ve done

Bri- Skinny dipping in a hot spring in Yellowstone! It was -8 degrees outside and they did not bring suits but Bri convinced Carl that they would regret it if they didn't. The fast water and slippery rocks were tough to navigate causing Bri to slip and nearly fall into the scalding water to their right. Without looking, Carl grabbed her arm and pulled her upright; an unspoken bond.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by Sunday, August 20th.

Are kids welcome?

We love your little ones, however we have chosen to host an adult only ceremony and reception. We hope the advanced notice means our parent friends are able to book a sitter and join us! Thank you for understanding!

Can I bring a date?

Please check your invite for your +1!

What will the weather be like?

Welcome to Wisconsin, all of you out-of-towners! The fall scenery is stunning, but the weather here can be kinda funny. Please plan to bring plenty of layers as our ceremony is outdoors!

What should I wear?

Formal wear, complete with shoes you can dance in. No jeans please.

Where should I park?

Please arrive with plenty of time to park. Street parking is free (unless otherwise marked).

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, with cocktail hour and the reception indoors.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

The terrain is mild, so feel free to go wild! There are a few steps into the grassy ceremony space.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Please refrain from taking photos during our ceremony. We have hired a photographer and videographer, they have it covered! Feel free to take as many photos as you would like following our "I Do's"!
