Story

Brigid first noticed Nick during Introductory Italian class at Villanova University, he was hard to miss as he never made it to class on time. They lived in the same co-ed dorm and both went to a University-hosted 'speed dating' ice breaker. Although Brigid and Nick did not get the chance to meet during the event, Brigid's roommate did end on Nick's roommate and, thanks to her quick thinking, they all hung out afterwards. The group were constantly together freshman year, and Nick even stayed at Brigid's house to see a DMB show (Brigid's 1st!) while still 'just friends'. The pair officially started dating in February 2013, just ahead of their first ski trip together to Mt Tremblant, Quebec. The relationship has since experienced an additional 26 DMB shows and 7 ski resorts.

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

What's your favorite activity together?

Explore our beautiful new home state. Whether its hiking, mountain biking or rock climbing, Colorado is an endless adventure.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

L'Antica Pizzeria da Michele in Napoli. We did not know it was possible to each eat 4 personal pizzas in 48 hours.

Who is always to ready to splurge money on food?

Nick. While living with Nick is like having a full live-in chef, it doesn't hurt to have a boxed Mac & Cheese every once in a while - Annie's Organic Grassfed, of course ;)

Who always leaves the dishes on the table after eating?

Brigid. There never seems to be a dish that doesn't 'require soaking' so that she can put them off until the following morning.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

How did he propose?

Nick proposed where it all began - on the path that runs between our Freshman Italian class and Caughlin Hall! To celebrate, the next day Brigid and Nick unknowingly entered into a 2 month separation, thanks to quarantine, until they were able to finally make the cross-country trip to Boulder.

Where are the ceremony and the reception taking place?

Both the ceremony and reception will take place at the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove in Audubon, Pennsylvania. After the ceremony, guests will be invited to immediately enjoy a cocktail hour in the same space, prior to moving to the reception area.

What is the John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove (JJAC)?

JJAC was the original American home of John James Audubon, a French naturalist whose work inspired the formation of the National Audubon Society. The historic site has been preserved as a bird sanctuary, educational center and event venue.
For those interested, there is an onsite museum that is open to the public during the day.

Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?

Yes, all buildings and restrooms are ADA accessible. For any guests needing extra assistance, a golf cart will be available for transportation around the grounds.

What will the weather be like?

March in Pennsylvania is tricky to predict. While we are hoping for the best (sunny and 65F), we are preparing for the worst (rainy and 40F). Both the ceremony and reception will take place indoors. There will be a coat check available to store any coats that might needed for a short walk between the two sites.
If the weather cooperates, there will be an outdoor cocktail hour, lawn games and a firepit for you to enjoy!

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

As both the reception and ceremony are indoors and the path connecting the two spaces is paved, feel free to wear your most fierce shoes - as long as they don't keep you from the dance floor!

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our wedding is going to be an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time so that you can celebrate with us.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos, however, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony.

Is there WIFI at the venue?

Unfortunately, WIFI is not available at JJAC.

What time will the reception end?

The reception will end at 10pm, however you are welcome to keep the party going with us at Bald Birds Brewing!

What should I do if I can’t make it?

You will be missed! If you can not make it to the wedding, please let us know as soon as possible and RSVP “no,” so we can plan accordingly.

Registry
