Cady & David

We can't wait to celebrate with you!

How it started...

Tidbits

How did he propose?

David proposed to me (Cady) on Earth Day. It was the last week of a particularly rough semester for both of us and summer break was on the horizon. To celebrate our soon-to-be commute-free life, David took me out for tapas.

Somewhere between the third and fourth course, he asked me why we were waiting to get married. I thought he was trying to make conversation, so I began to list all the reasons. After trying to shoot them down one by one, he finally stopped me and said, "I have my grandmother's ring and if you want, I'd love to make it yours."

Where did you elope?

We (David + Cady) married at the courthouse in the presence of our parents before jetting off to Portugal and Morocco for our honeymoon.

We can't wait to celebrate with all of you on the weekend of our one-year anniversary.

Lodging

The best way to experience Tampa is to immerse yourself in one of our neighborhoods. Our top recommendation is to book an Airbnb in our home Tampa Heights. Other cute and convenient neighborhoods are historic Ybor City, Riverside Heights, Ridgewood Park, Seminole Heights or Hyde Park.

If you prefer to stay in a hotel we recommend the Hotel Haya, Hilton Garden Inn or Hampton Inn & Suites in historic Ybor City. The hotels are a quick Uber to the venue and a short walk from the after-party.

Questions

What should I wear?

The event attire is "creative formal." Break the cardinal rule of weddings: upstage the bride and groom. Dress your best with a twist (or several). Hate dresses? Don't wear one. Hate ties? Don't wear one of those either. Love tutus, bows, sequins, neon, lace, velour, ruffles, guayabera, or purple velvet tuxes? Be our guest. Patterns and personality are encouraged, mandatory even.

Can I bring a date?

We hope to keep our weekend as intimate as possible by choosing to celebrate with only our family and friends. Thank you for respecting our wishes.

Are kids welcome?

While we love your little ones, our reception is an adults-only event so that everyone can relax and enjoy the evening. We appreciate you making arrangements ahead of time. If you are traveling to Tampa and need assistance securing childcare, please get in touch. We would love to help!

How will food and drinks be served?

Join us for a fun night of dancing, drinks, and hearty hors d'oeuvres.

Where should I park?

We strongly recommend taking a Lyft/Uber so that you can fully enjoy the evening. If you are taking your own vehicle, Red Door No. 5 provides ample complimentary parking. Lots can be found on the right side of E Ross Ave and directly across from the venue on N Florida Ave.

Where can I view pictures of your elopement?

Click on 'Menu' in the the top left corner of your screen and then select 'Moments.'
