Austin and Candice first met when Austin was running beach volleyball camps and Candice had to cover her friend Fallon's coaching shift one lovely summer evening (meet-cute, thank you Fallon). While Austin was obviously left speechless by Candice's breath taking beauty and sparkling personality, their relationship would not evolve past friendship until a few years later when Austin moved back to Edmonton after finishing his 5th year playing for the Men's Volleyball team at the University of British Columbia.

Austin's clever idea to find an excuse to hang out with Candice was convincing her to assistant coach his youngest brother's club volleyball team with him. She eventually clued in after he kept asking her to go for dinner after practice as a thank you for showing up (as if that wasn't just a requirement being an assistant coach and all). But you gotta give it to the guy - it worked. Candice had no business adding coaching to her plate, she was already insanely busy playing for the NAIT Women's Volleyball team and completing her Business Degree. But something told her to commit to coaching this team with Austin, despite all common sense. Now 6 years later they have a house, an adorable/crazy dog Jack, and are getting ready to celebrate their marriage to one another.
