Story
Carter and Emma had known of each other for a long time before they started dating. They went to middle school together, and had almost every class together freshman year of high school, and somehow never ended up talking to each other.
They didn't end up connecting until their sophomore year of high school- they had Latin together. Carter sat in front of Emma, and they ended up talking and laughing a lot. Emma would watch him play coloring games on his phone and sigh...
After about a month or two of Emma crushing, Carter started liking her back! They eventually started texting back and forth, and Emma made plans to go to a soccer game of his. That soccer game ended up getting cancelled, and this text chain is what pursued:
Emma: So does this mean you're free Friday? ;)
Carter: Emma! Is this a booty call?
Emma: um... kind of?
Long story short, they ended up going on their first date: Chickfila and bowling. It was funny because neither of them knew it was a date until about 25 minutes in. Carter met Emma's parents that night, and asked her to be his girlfriend. (she said yes!)
Fast forward, they start college, and begin dating long distance. Both of them assumed they were going to break up, but somehow never did. Carter started to follow the Lord, and Emma quickly followed suit. God began to highlight all of the brokenness in the relationship, and they gave it all to Jesus. He has taken Carter and Emma's relationship and redeemed it for his glory.
This relationship has had so many ups and downs, but they are so grateful to have made it here. They can't wait to celebrate with everyone in May!
