Chris and Laura initially connected on Bumble over their favorite "weird food combinations" and great conversation. Although Chris had to be asked out more than once, he finally picked up on the hint and suggested they meet at Recess in Chicago. They had their first date on September 6, 2020. That first date lasted over eight hours as they shared beer, food, dad jokes and countless stories. Both left not worrying if there would be a second date, but wondering if they had found their person. The pair was pretty much inseparable since.

Although COVID tried to ruin their proposal, Chris had a backup plan. He proposed at District Brew Yards during their joint birthday party. The two are excited to be "birthday buddies" for life and thought it was only fitting to plan their wedding at Revolution Brewing.
