Story

Holly was just a small town girl, living in a lonely world.... she took the midnight train going anywhere...

Alex was a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit... He took the midnight train going anywhere...

Just kidding! We matched on Tinder then got some burgers before going to South Fremantle Beach for our first date. Holly distinctly informed Alex she wasn't really looking for a "serious relationship" at the time. However, Alex is a bad listener and by date number 2, he "wasn't going to say he was in love but was feeling something close to it".

Five months later they moved in together and Alex became a step-pet-parent to Ruby and Tully. They adopted their own kittens together, Yoda and Mufasa, 2 months after that. Then came along Morty, the lovable anxious rescue puppy, Niffler, the ferret friend and Lyla, the boofhead AmStaff. Followed by Shenzi and Possum the tiny ferret chaos queens. While Ruby and Niffler are no longer with us, Alex and Holly are presently up to a total of 7 fur children in the household and have temporarily fostered or housed a variety of kittens, cats, guinea pigs, dogs, bats, cockatoos and one turtle.

In June of 2019, Alex got down on one knee and forgot to ask Holly to marry him, while Holly almost forgot to say "yes" because she was too busy crying and hugging the elephants present at the proposal. However, they both knew what the other one was getting at and now they are getting married!

How did you first meet?

See Our Story!

Who made the first move? How?

Alex's opening line was something about how Holly must really enjoy being a dog walker because he loves dogs. Smart.

Who's going to take out the trash?

Whoever loses the battle of wills.

What's your favorite activity together?

Bushwalking trails with the dogs

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

South Africa where the tour guide got our car chased by a mumma elephant who considered us too close. We also went shark cage diving and kissed a hippo named Fiona.

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by the 1st of June 2022, so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

What will the weather be like?

September is the start of spring so we are hoping for beautiful flowers and fine weather. However, it could also be pouring with rain. Basically.... we don't know! Bring a jacket just in case. We are expecting it to be mild during the reception and maybe a bit chilly later on.

Where should I park?

There is plenty of free parking at both the ceremony and reception location. However, we recommend carpooling so you can take advantage of the free drinks that will be on offer from 6 pm - 10 pm

What time should I arrive?

We recommend a 4 pm - 4.15 pm arrival at Bells Rapids for a 4.30 pm start.

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Our wedding ceremony is outdoors, but our reception is undercover.

What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?

We cannot emphasise enough that flat shoes are recommended because Bell's Rapids is a bit rocky and we also want you to be able to get your boogie on at the reception!

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

Yes! We would love for you to take photos. However, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony so our wedding photographer doesn't capture lots of guests looking at phone snaps instead of your dazzling smiles. If your name is Graham O'Donoghoe, please read the previous sentence again... Love you Dad.

Will food be served?

Yes, food will be provided and beer, wine and cider will be free-flowing from 6 pm - 10 pm. After 10 pm there will be a cash bar.

What if I have a dietary restriction?

Please let us know when you RSVP

Is there a gifts registry?

Nope! Your presence is gift enough. If you still wish to make a contribution there will be a wishing well at the reception.

I see your dogs will be in attendance. Can I pat them?

Lyla, the big grey dog, would love to receive as many pats as possible. She can be a bit drooly, so consider yourself warned.

Morty, the orange and white dog should be ignored. He takes stranger danger a little too seriously. However, if he comes directly to you, you can say "Hi" and offer a hand to scratch under the chin. Other than that, it's a no from Morty.

In summary:
Grey dog = Go for it.
Orange and white = Ignore all night

Whom should I call with questions?

Feel free to contact Alex on 0438 821 959 or Holly on 0407 474 776
