Getting In
We recommend flying into Faro International Airport! We plan to base ourselves in vilamoura.
Taxis are in shorter supply so please prebook a transfer as it will also work out cheaper. If you have kids who need a childs seat this will need to be booked in advance. We recommend booking through Algarve T
Vilamoura, Quarteira, Portugal
Vilamoura is 25km (approx 25mins drive) from Faro airport.
Unfortunately Uber is not very reliable at present due to shortages of cars and workforce since Covid.
Therefore we recommend booking a transfer where possible from the airport and to and from the wedding in advance. We don't want anyone stranded at the wedding venue so please plan accordingly.
Taxi companies if needed are
Algarve T: or through the app
Taxis Vilamoura: 00351289895799
Everywhere Transfers: 00351968308464
Please note that if the trip takes place during the night, the price will be higher because a special night rate is charged.
Also booking.com has a feature online and on the app for airport transfers.
Please Pre book transfers to and from wedding
Please try and arrange travel to and from the wedding as Uber has not been very reliable this summer and we don't want anyone stuck in quinta do lago. Especially if you are bringing kids home as you will need car seats pre booked. Casa do lago will be able to help with taxis on the night however the wait for these can be in excess of an hour so please plan where possible.

Q & A
For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!
What will the weather be like?
It's Portugal so hopefuly hot, so please wear suncream. On average the algarve temperature in September is around 21 degrees. However we can't predict the weather so fingers crossed its nice and sunny.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Our wedding ceremony is outdoors on the beach with no shelter from the sun so please ensure your are hydrated. We wil have some sun umbrellas to shade some of the guests but not all. Our reception will have shaded areas but again is outside until 12am then we will move inside to continue the dancing until 2am :)
Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?
As much as we love a photo, please refrain from taking photos during the ceremony. This will allow our photographer get some lovely shots without everyone's phone in the way. However feel free to be snap happy before and after. We would love for you to take photos and share them with us afterwards.
Are kids welcome?
We wouldn't ask you to travel to Portugal without your little ones. We just ask you to let us know what parts of the day they will be attending in advance. Please reach out if you have any questions! We have also added a link to help you baby proof a villa if needed.
What if I have a dietary restriction?
Please let us know in advance when we send out meal options? That way we can ensure the this is included for you on the day.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
Remember we are getting married on a beach therefore your heels might sink. But please wear whatever you like.
Whom should I contact with questions?
Please contact Laura with any questions, Shane may not know the answer :) In fact I would say he won't know the answer so feel free to contact me. My number is 0830305676 or email me on laura.bhreathnach@gmail.com
Where can I get hair and make up done?
I will put up some our recommendations. Chloe is fab at make up Ken Boylan is an Irish Make up artist. They fill up fast for weddings so if you have a group wanting to get your make up done I advise booking ASAP. Hair again this generally will need a group booking but Lisa armstrong will also come to villa or apartments for groups. Tasmsyn hair or Be bella are also options please see links under the useful links section of website.
What should I wear?
Don't worry this is not a black tie event as people would roast in black suits and tie in the sun. However if you prefer to go all out and dress up be our guest. The dress code is therefore semi formal.
I have been requested to expand :)
Ideally for men chinos or suit trousers and a shirt or similar and any form of cocktail dress or outfit for females. Ties and suit not required however if you want to go out be our guest. Shane will be wearing chinos colour trousers, a blazer and shoes if that helps. Any questions let me know.
