Story

Morgan: Spending a random summer night at Manayunk Brewery, hanging out with my friends, spot the only other people at the bar so early- a cute boy and his friends.
Dan: Spots pretty girl that I think I matched with on Bumble (dating app) - is it her?! Should I say hello? I'm going to do it. I'm just going to ask if it's her. "Hi, is your name Morgan?"
Morgan: How in the world does this boy know my name?
Dan: "I think we matched on Bumble and you're really cute but I wasn't completely sure if it was you" as I am nervously hoping that she talks to me. Also, why did I never message her back on Bumble?!
Morgan: Did he just say that I am prettier in person or pictures? I can't tell. Continues to chat with the cute boy who just moved to Philadelphia regardless of his poor pick-up line.

We chatted the night away and went on our first date for sushi the following day before Dan had to travel for work the next week and the rest is history!

Tidbits

Who's going to take out the trash?

Dan. Except when Dan travels and Morgan has to. But Morgan always puts the new trash bag in.

What was your most memorable date?

One Friday night when we both finished work early, we decided to go to the Philadelphia Art Museum. We got some wine and wandered around. Then we were going to bike to a barbecue place that we'd been wanting to try in South Philly. After our 5 mile bike ride through city traffic (and Morgan believing every car was destined to run her over), the bbq place had just closed for renovations. So, not willing to accept defeat, we hopped in an Uber and drove 20 minutes to our usual bbq spot and devoured yummy barbecue. Just goes to show how far we'll both go for good food!

What's your favorite activity together?

If you can't tell from reading all of our other answers, traveling to new places and trying new food- either when we cook it together or yummy restaurants.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Since we have to make everything complicated (and since Morgan will be starting her medical residency in June 2019), we are going on our honeymoon before our wedding and doing a big Europe trip! We are starting in Florence, Italy, traveling to the Greek islands, and ending in Spain! We cannot wait!

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

A pretty good tie.
Zahav with Dan's parents in Philadelphia - the tasting menu in which everything was SOOO good.
Tied closely with what was supposed to be our engagement dinner in the Philippines (Dan had to wait until the next day to propose because it was rainy and he wanted a good sunset). We went to a fancy restaurant at the Shangri-la called Rima that was tucked into a luxurious tree house overlooking the beach. Dan had an Australian Wagyu Rib Eye Steak and Morgan had "suckling pig" - the chef's take on a Philippino favorite!

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Morgan's choice - Paris - I had always dreamed of visiting Paris and it was everything I ever imagined. It was also my goal for getting through my first board exam in medical school. Whenever I got upset, Dan reminded me that once it was done, I could have unlimited croissants (which I did). Everything about Paris was romantic and beautiful, along with the company.

Dan's choice - Philippines - I wanted to take Morgan to Southeast Asia since my favorite trip was the 3 weeks I spent in SE Asia the year before. Getting to experience many different parts of the Philippines (over 7,000 islands make up the Philippines) from sleepy beach towns like Boracay to major cities like Cebu and Manila, along with a culture that differed greatly from our own, made the experience so special. Meeting incredible people all along our journey and exploring the world together was great. Of course, proposing to Morgan (and her saying yes) was the best part!
