Our Story
How did you first meet?
We first met in 2014 and actually became friends before becoming a couple. I remember going to the theatre together to watch shows, going to dance socials and being just good friends. In 2015 neither of us had a dance partner so we started practising Latin together, without any intention of ever performing seriously. Something must have worked however and we went on to become a couple, both in dance and life.
Who made the first move? How?
After a dance practice Darren asked Vishesh. Darren was so nervous about it, it took him right to the last moment before Vishesh had to get on a different tube at Waterloo station.
What was your most memorable date?
Darren: 'A Night at the Musicals' in Prague. Not memorable for quality of singing, but we did bond over the hilarity.
Vishesh: Falconry experience. My first Christmas present from Darren, spending time with birds (and Darren)
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
We are going to have a short trip straight after the wedding to Greece, and then in Autumn 2023 we are planning a bigger trip to Central America.
Who proposed and how?
We had always agreed that any proposal would not be in public. We had really enjoyed the increased time together spent at home during lockdown, so Darren decided to propose at home. This was followed by a planned hotel stay and day of being hometown tourists in London.
