The young Londoner had travelled down to visit his friends for a night out over the weekend. They hopped from bar to bar joking and laughing. Until they eventually arrived at the star and garter. It was disco night and the music took hold of the young Londoner. He danced the night away, eyes closed and feeling the music in his bones. But when he opened his eyes, something magical happened.

He saw her. He was struck with a feeling unlike any other he’d experienced before. The butterflies in his stomach started fluttering. She was the picture of grace and beauty. She stood there alone, looking his way. He was nervous, more nervous than ever before. His mind racing as to find a way to make his way over and talk to her. So the young Londoner kept on dancing until finally, he plucked up enough courage to shimmy his way over. To which, she proceeded to turn away.

Downhearted, he sheepishly shimmied his way back over to his friends and kept on dancing. But he was so smitten by her aura he needed to talk to her. Otherwise, he felt he would regret this for the rest of his life. The time was flying by, both admiring each other’s dance moves to earth wind and fire. Then something terrible happened, the bell rang for last orders. That’s it the bar is closing soon, the music is dying down, and we haven’t said a word to each other. “Come on Martin, you can do this” he thought to himself. When the music went silent and everyone was leaving, it was only the young Londoner and this Ecuadorean Queen left on the dance floor.

His friends were readying to leave. This was it. Now or never. He made his way over and said “Hi, I’m Martin.” To which she replied, “Took you long enough.” They had a little chat and got along like a house on fire. Outside they exchanged numbers as he asked her on a date for the next weekend. To which she said yes. This was the beginning of something beautiful and everlasting. And the best decision of his life was to not let this chance at pure love, peace and happiness slip through his fingers.

Now four years on exactly, they are to be wedded in holy matrimony. Embarking on a journey through life together as one.
