Getting In

For those flying from out of state, the closest airports to Mount Madonna Center are San Jose and San Francisco. You probably will want to rent a car as that is the best way to get around California.

Note

Accomodations

For those coming from out of town, while you may stay at a hotel in Watsonville, Santa Cruz, Gilroy, etc., we recommend staying at Mount Madonna Center itself where we have rooms blocked off and available for $100/night/per person and includes room and meals. That way you don't have to worry about driving and are already on site. Please do not call Mount Madonna for room booking: just let us know that you want a room, as we are arranging all the rooms with Mount Madonna.

Story

Devin and Prabha first met at Sri Ram Ashram in 2004 when Prabha still lived there and Devin was visiting for 10 days. Though they didn't interact much (that we can remember), Prabha then moved to California and attended Mount Madonna School with Devin. They remained friendly with each other over the years and would often visit Sri Ram Ashram at the same time during Diwali. During her time in India in 2022, Prabha noticed she was starting to like Devin and realized they had a lot in common and shared similar interests, values, and life goals. Finally, at the end of 2022, they began dating and fell madly in love.
Traveling together became very special, spending time in Yosemite, Iceland, India, and California. In Summer of 2023, Prabha asked Devin to marry (in Iceland), Devin asked Prabha (in Carmel), and the rest is history!

Q & A

For all our friends and family who have lots of questions, please check out our Q & A first!

When is the RSVP deadline?

Please RSVP by May 1st, 2024 so we can have an accurate headcount. :)

Can I bring a date?

We already have a good idea of who will be attending, but if you are expecting to bring someone new, please check with us as we do have a seating capacity.
We can't accommodate every resident living at Mount Madonna for dinner: any resident may come watch the ceremony at the temple, but we apologize that we cannot invite all to attend dinner.

What will the weather be like?

In July in California, it can be expected to be quite warm! But you never know when there will be coastal fog that can be chilly at Mount Madonna. Bring a layer or two but also be ready for warm weather.

Are kids welcome?

Of course!

What should I wear?

You may dress in nice wedding attire either in Indian traditional or Western style. You can be as fancy as you like! But semi casual is OK too.
For Indian style - Kurta/pyjama or pants or Indian suits for men. Lehenga's, Sarees, kurti for women.
For Western style - button up shirts with nice pants (ties and jackets not required) for men. Summer dresses or suits for women.

Should I book my own room at Mount Madonna Center?

If you would like a room in the conference center at Mount Madonna, please let us know directly. Don't call MMC for room reservations, as we are handling all the room arrangements. Just let one of us know that you are needing a room, and for which nights!

Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?

Both! The Temple ceremony/yajna is outdoors but covered. Cocktail hour is on the Conference center patio which is outdoors. There is some shade. Dinner will be indoors in the main hall of the conference center. Reception and dancing will also be outside on the patio of the conference center.

Is it okay to take pictures with our phones and cameras during the wedding?

We are happy for you to take photos and videos, but know that we will have professional photographers and when you are in their photos, we want to see your smiling faces enjoying the moments, and not photos of you taking photos!

Whom should I call with questions?

Feel free to reach out directly to us ahead of time to let us know your plans or if you have questions about anything, especially regarding accommodations or RSVP'ing!
