From Diana's perspective: David and I met in 2018 at Richfield Bible Church. We both joined this new church plant within a few months of each other and often found ourselves at the same gatherings and events. We got to know each other at church, service opportunities, and time with mutual friends.

I noticed that David was quick to serve, put everyone at ease and was happy to invite others to join in whatever conversation or activity was taking place. He was kind, trustworthy, and consistent. Though I appreciated these qualities, I was also shy and struggling with chronic illnesses.

We began talking more frequently towards the end of 2020. In January 2021, David asked me to meet him for coffee. I was pretty sure he wanted more than just a catch up conversation over coffee, so I prayed for wisdom about how I should respond if he asked about deepening our relationship. In all of my vacillating thoughts, I realized that I had every reason to accept the opportunity get to know him better if he asked. After coffee and a walk, David very kindly explained that he was interested in getting to know me better and asked if I would be willing to pursue deepening our relationship to consider marriage.

We started meeting for walks and conversations. I appreciated his honesty, attentiveness, humor, and flexibility. We found that we had many common goals, interests, and preferences. We both laughed more, talked freely, and enjoyed our time together. What started as lots of questions and curiosity quickly turned into a sweet friendship and eventually grew into love. He has been flexible, creative, and makes the most commonplace activities (including grocery shopping) fun!

David proposed to me in August, and I happily said yes. We are excited for our marriage and all that God has for us. We love serving together, showing hospitality, and doing life together. God has blessed us with friends and family who have loved, supported, and counselled us in so many helpful ways. We are so humbled and grateful for God's direction and grace to us!
