Story
Both of us entered medical school saying we did not want to date another doctor. Guess that worked out well for us! <3
Our medical school class was fairly small and we had the same group of friends the first two years. Halfway through first year I started to notice the cute boy who was extremely outgoing and seemed fun to be around. I remember asking him to help me practice for an OMM practical just as an excuse to talk to him more. Everyone needs a study buddy while in medical school, and I found mine!
Medical school is challenging enough as it is without a beautiful girl sitting in the same row as you. I probably spent more time on gchat and casually staring over than paying attention in class. With all the hard work we spent on our studies, I knew it was important to exercise and take some personal time. Our interest in yoga was my way of spending more time getting to know this intelligent, caring girl and the rest is history!
Tidbits
How did you first meet?
See Our Story!
Who made the first move? How?
Nicole! She asked him to study with her for an OMM practical exam.
Daniel! obviously! Nicole likes doing yoga so he thought he would join her one day post studying.
Who's going to take out the trash?
Nicole.. at least for the first 5 years while Daniel is in Surgical residency. Then its payback for lost time!
Daniel has a different perspective believing he takes the trash out more often....just forgets to put a new bag in!
What was your most memorable date?
Murray's Cheese Bar class! Daniel knows Nicole loves cheese (maybe a little too much..) and took her to a cheese and wine class in NYC followed by a stroll through the High Line.
Brindle room NYC. The week prior to starting residency, Daniel knew it was a great time to go back to the place of their first date! Afterwards a walk through Tompson square park on a beautiful, clear evening.
What's your favorite activity together?
Hiking!
Where are you going for your honeymoon?
Somewhere on the bucket list for both of us.. Maybe Iceland? South Africa? Sweden/Norway? Croatia? South of France?
What's the best meal you have eaten together?
Culinary Institute of America-The Bocuse Restaurant. Absolutely amazing!
What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?
By far the most memorable trip we have EVER taken (even apart): New Zealand for 4 weeks right before we both started our residencies.
What nicknames do you have for each other?
SassMcGas for Daniel.. he gets a little sassy sometimes! :)
