Bill & Emily

Story

After a few months of getting to know each other online, the couple finally set their first date. They bonded over good conversation about food, music and life. They laughed over how extreme the trivia night had gotten as the night went on, thusly confirming their shared love of sarcasm and making light of any situation. Bill thought Emily should get her own Netflix comedy show and that the green dress she was wearing really complimented her eyes! After dinner, the couple chatted more....up until the point where they were asked to leave because the staff was ready to close up. Carrying the conversation to the parking lot, the couple decided a second date was definitely in order.

After dating a few months, the holidays arrived and presented the couple a chance for their first *road* trip together during Christmas 2018 - an 11 hour drive north to Bill's hometown in Jenkintown, PA to meet his family. Overwhelmed by how accommodating and kind his family was (and still is), Emily knew she was in the right place. Bill was Emily's tour guide for her first trip to Philadelphia - the Museum of Art, sushi at Morimoto and even taking a photo under the "Love" sculpture in Love Park. Bill guided her through Manhattan to visit his sister, Kathleen, and had a great Korean BBQ dinner with her, his brother Patrick and his girlfriend Kelly.

Since their first trip together, they have traveled to the coast of Charleston and Miami, the mountains and trails of Asheville, NC to Nevada City, CA to visit his brother, Jim (with stops in San Francisco & Newport Beach along the way). From the dirty south of Atlanta, GA to see the Philadelphia Eagles/Phillies/Braves (lol) live in action and even further dirty south...to Argentina to literally eat all the empanadas, drink delicious local Malbec and soak in the breathtaking views.

Emily and Bill cannot wait to share their greatest journey with you on October, 9, 2020 as they join their love together and become married in front of their family and friends! #goinggillespie

Tidbits

How did you first meet?

She swiped right. He swiped right. The rest remains a beautiful, fun, exciting history!

Who made the first move? How?

After our third date at Stone Pin Bowling Alley (a local fave in Greenville, SC), Bill walked Emily to the car, spun her around, placed her face in his gentle hands and kissed her for her last first kiss.

Who's going to take out the trash?

We have been known to take the trash out together because sharing is caring :)

What was your most memorable date?

Bill's: Fall for Greenville 2018 because of how much time we got to spend with each other. We enjoyed walking around Main Street, listening to local bands and I got to meet a lot of Emily's friends from Greenwood. That was also the first day I met Emily's pup, Jackson!

Emily's: I would say our first date because, aside from the fun convo and making fun of the extreme trivia teams, it was then I knew there was something very special and amazing about Bill.

Where are you going for your honeymoon?

Since one of our good friends will be wed in Manhattan two weeks after our wedding (Hey, Shay!), we are thinking of heading north! Still haven't quite decided on the location yet!

What's your favorite activity together?

We love to go hiking (when the SC weather permits!) around Paris Mountain or Jones Gap. We love trying new restaurants (we're currently on a quest to find the best brussel sprouts in town) as we claim to be "foodies". We also absolutely love doing nothing and watching movies at home while hanging out with our crazy puppy, Canon.

What's the best meal you have eaten together?

Bill: Jianna's handmade pasta (and the ricotta cheese appetizer) in Greenville or sushi at Morimoto in Philly or everything we ate in Argentina.
Emily: The first meal we had in Bariloche, Argentina...Pizza, empanadas and a bottle of Malbec, overlooking the lake district at this restaurant called El Paraje.

What's the most memorable trip you have taken together?

Bill: I'll say California for the sheer variety of the trip - we explored mountains, cities, beaches and vineyards...while having the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We also found some great food....per usual.
Emily: It's hard to choose but I really enjoyed our first trip together - meeting his wonderful parents/siblings, touring Philadelphia, Manhattan and we ended up spending NYE in Charleston, SC with some great friends.
