This airport allows you to do some site seeing en route to Donegal. I recommned the Cliffs of Moher, less than an hour up the road, Doolin Town for some food, Dunguaire Castle and finish by staying the night in Galway City. The next day I would visit Knock Shrine, were Our Lady, St. Joseph, John the Evangelist and the Lamb of God appeared.

Bring walking shoes and a RAIN JACKET!! The weather in Ireland is very changeable.
