For nearly a decade we were in the same places and spaces around mutual friends and acquaintances, and yet we never met. It was not until years after us both attending Auburn University and living in Atlanta during the same time frame that we met. After weeks of texting and phone calls, due to us living hours apart, while in Auburn, I took the chance of meeting Walker for lunch. As I arrived at the house where he was living, I knocked on the door, and out walks Walker, wearing a pair of brown Dickies, loafers, and a golf shirt. When I saw the Dickies, I immediately questioned my decision. Yet, we had a wonderful lunch at Amsterdam Cafe, where we shared stories from college, realized we had so many mutual connections, and finally decided to go see a movie. The next day, we spent more time together, and decided to give things a shot.

There is this theme of nearly a decade with our relationship. We have been together since February of 2013, through job changes and recurring long distance stints, we have now arrived at the same place ready to begin our next chapter together.
