Q & A
We tried to cover the main points below, but if you still have questions shoot us an email: elliothward@gmail.com or ericalrosen@gmail.com
How are you handling all the COVID stuff?
We want this to be a fun & special day – and that includes having everyone feel safe. So here's what's up [THIS WAS LAST UPDATED AUGUST 29, 2021]:
Vaccination is required for all attendees. On August 29th, we sent out an email to all attendees with an easy form to upload proof of vaccination (if you did not receive, please let us know). Caterer confirms all event staff are fully vaccinated.
We will also require a negative COVID test: you can do this on your own within 72 hours of the event OR you can do a rapid antigen test at the venue, free of charge. We'll have a pop-up testing site for our guests. For those who can, we encourage PCR tests before the event to reduce waiting time & logistics on the day of.
Windows: open on both sides of the reception room and we will also have the HVAC active to keep things cool & comfortable.
With these checks in place, we believe we can proceed with a maskless event that minimizes risk substantially for everyone. But wear a mask if you want!
Do I have to be vaccinated to attend your wedding?
Yes, please. NYC is now requiring this for indoor gatherings such as restaurants and entertainment venues, and it is very likely that this will apply to gatherings of our size by the date of the wedding.
Are masks required? Will they be provided?
It is our hope that, with everyone vaccinated, we will be able to spend time together in this space without masks on. As of August 2021 this is in accordance with the New York City mandates which are currently prioritizing vaccinations as the key to entering these kinds of spaces.
We will make sure that there are masks and hand sanitizer on-hand.
I'm still feeling not great about travel and COVID, even by September. How do I tell you I can't come to your wedding?
No problem at all. Seriously. We made the choice to have a wedding in 2021 and we 100% respect any choices you need to make as we continue to navigate uncertain times. We we will find ways to celebrate with you in the future!
What will the weather be like?
Mid-September is the tail end of summer in NYC so it can really go either way in terms of heat and humidity. That said, our ceremony and reception will be indoors in a large, climate controlled space so you should be pretty comfy in your party outfit!
Are the ceremony and reception locations wheelchair accessible?
Yes, there is an elevator that can take you to the event space.
What should I wear?
Dress for a party, but ok to keep it casual! Black Tie this is not. But hey, it's a chance to dress up and look nice in some photos together after a year of PJs. Erica and Elliot will both be wearing nice outfits.
Is the wedding indoors or outdoors?
Ceremony: Indoors in large, climate controlled 10,000 sq foot space with lots of open windows and great ventilation.
Cocktail Hour: Outdoors in the courtyard!
Reception: Back indoors in the 10,000 square foot space. The venue also has a large private outdoor balcony for easy moving between indoor/outdoor time.
What kind of shoes should/shouldn't I wear?
The venue is in a former industrial space with a poured concrete floor (so whatever that means for your feet). We'd say wear shoes you want to dance in (or bring your dancing shoes in your bag).
Do you have a registry?
Yup, we have a small registry and you can find it on this site. In lieu of gifts, we also encourage anyone to donate to some organizations that are important to us:
1) Brooklyn Movement Center:
2) Ancient Song Doula:
3) Environmental Defense Fund:
Will there be events on Friday or Sunday surrounding the wedding?
Due to all the testing and safety protocol we have in place, we are downsizing Friday night's event, however we encourage everyone to join us on Sunday at Lizzie Kings from 11am-2pm for a bagel brunch in their back patio. Thank you so much for understanding!
If you are looking to make your own plans on those days and see more of New York, we FULLY support that – we’ll party hard on Saturday at the wedding itself.
Where should I stay?
Check out the TRAVEL section of our website – that’s where we have info about our hotel block, recs for AirBNBs, and details on other nearby hotels if you want some options!

How do I get to the venue?
You can take a taxi/uber/lyft… or you can take a Subway or Bus depending on where you are staying! Check out our Brooklyn Guide for more details around public transport to the venue.
Note: all of our hotel recommends are roughly a 10-20 minute cab ride to the venue and 15-25 minutes via subway (leave a bit more time for the bus – no offense, Elliot.)
If I want to drive to the venue for the wedding, is there parking?
There is metered and paid lot parking nearby:
